Product Description Review: these really work - I have chronic prepatellar bursitis from many days of kneeling half a year ago... I could not, for example, do the exercise shown on the package without it inflaming this condition...not with any kind of full knee pad or foam pillow or anything. But with these pads, no problemo. I actually carved out the hole a bit to create a more gradual slope to the opening... easy to do with a kitchen knife. And now they are perfect. They seem hard to the touch... more like styrofoam than memory foam, say, but as you kneel on them they settle and support perfectly. Review: Kneel freely without worry - Excellent. I've had 2 knee surgeries on my right knee, one more complicated then the other but the simplest explanation is my knee cap had to be moved over and tied down. Any stress or pressure on my knee cap is very uncomfortable. Years ago I had been in a friends Yoga studio and she had donuts for knee support. They weren't quite as fat as these, the holes were a little bigger, and they were made from a different material but they worked great so I was so excited to see these. The DoDs work just fine. I think they are unnecessarily thick and the hole could be a little wider, but they are comfortable and do take the pressure off my knee cap. I can kneel and do exercises from that position without pain or worrying about additional injury. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone with knee surgeries, injuries, or just pain.

Great for bad knees.
I have had knee replacement on one knee, and need surgery on the other knee. Can't get on my knees to clean bathtub, scrub floors, look underthings. With these I could stay at my knees for ever. Protects them wonderfully. Not just for yoga.

I have bad knees--particularly the left knee
I have bad knees--particularly the left knee. Have had surgery to remove the meniscus, and have severe arthritis--bone on bone. All that being true, I have a fairly active life style and have no plans for knee replacement. However, I find Yoga positions in which kneeling is necessary to be painful, and have been looking for a way to cushion my knees. On the basis of reader recommendations, I bought the DoD Fitness Knee Donuts two weeks ago. Big mistake. I have used them twice for Yoga and find they not only do not cushion my knees--probably because they are made of a hard rubber material with absolutely no give--but they have small openings in the "donut" which do not begin to fit my kneecaps. No help whatsoever! I am going to look for another product with more cushioning--perhaps gel or much softer foam rubber. I do not recommend these Knee Donuts to anyone with knee problems, or anyone else, for that matter.

Very Hard Foam
The foam used for this product is very stiff and uncomfortable to use. Hard edges all around. The way your kneecaps fit into the holes feels awkward, and more time is spent fussing over the knee support than you are focused on the workout. I don't use them, and the price isn't worth returning them. Seller wins, customer loses. Live and learn I guess. Spend your money on a small yoga knee pad instead.

Not as expected
Apparently, I didn't read the information carefully enough. I thought I was purchasing the gel type. These are way too stiff for me. Just recently had knee surgery and there is no way that knee will work with this. Product is fine, just not what I thought it was. My fault.

super comfortable, for me (a medium height woman) the holes are the perfect size for the knee cap to settle in without stressing the structure or surrounding structures. The knee injury I am protecting is two loose knee cap ligaments, one of which has been dislocated off to the lateral side. These keep my knee caps totally stabilized as I put weight on them.

I have patellar tracking issues and physical therapy/yoga help tremendously. Some of the floor exercises hurt my knees. These knee donuts help take the pressure off my knee joints and make the exercise less painful. They are reasonably priced and work exactly as expected. The reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because they are a little hard to position. It's not a defect in the product, just a reality.
