My son loves it. He said the helmet is perfect and the fit is awesome

Good choice for welders
Purchased as a gift for my daughter and she said it works as expected. The sizer made it fit without slipping when she flips it up and down. She didn't want a pricier one because she says this is what most of the welders use in her shop. Great price, too.

Great hood, needs third party aluminum hardware, beware of plastic fragility.
Union Ironworker - This hood is pretty decent for the price. The lens it comes with is a standard shade 10 that performs well for 1/8 and 5/32 stick. I havenโt burned wire with this hood and I did add a tradesmen auto darkening 2x4 drop in right away which I also like very much. My only problem with this hood is the plastic hardware that fastens the headgear to the hood. It wonโt allow you to tighten it enough to get it from dropping onto your face when you need it to remain up. I bought third party aluminum hardware and added a small amount of medium strength locktite and that has helped tremendously. With the new aluminum hardware I was able to tighten the halo position more but it also led to a small crack in the side of the hood forming. This could be from getting bumped on my head or in a gang box while being stored too. Either way, be aware that the plastic does have the ability to crack especially in low temperatures like we experience in Denver. Overall I recommend this hood to other Ironworkers and tradesman who weld. Spending $300 on a hood set up that will absolutely get beat up working in the conditions my trade presents did not appeal to me. This was a solid alternative.

Light weight, nice fit
This hood works well, it's lightweight and offers good protection without getting in the way. I'm just a DIY/hobby welder but I'm often under cars or lying on my side, etc and this helmet doesn't get in the way like my old helmet did (not pipeliner style). Don't be surprised if you need to trim the bottom to fit a little better. Set to my preferred angle, the hood hit my chest before I trimmed it an inch or so with a Dremel. If I break this somehow, I'm buying another one.

Cant beat these old tiger hoods
Great quality, I beat the crap out of mine everyday and it just doesnโt care. Get some good aluminum screws, the plastic ones strip out. Also get a good leather or cloth headband for the best comfort

You'll need to fix some stuff up
I didn't understand why people recommend these - especially after my hinge screw popped off on the first day I took it to class, necessitating that I shelve it or waste time fixing it. It's because they're simple, durable, easy to replace, and standard. You'll get the bare minimum needed to keep your eyes from frying. You'll want to be prepared to replace the plastic screws keeping the 3-C gear hinged onto the hood. They're plastic-on-plastic threads, and they'll pop apart if you treat them wrong. There are ready-made machined metal hinge screws available that'll drop in. Find them on Amazon, I've got mine ordered. You may also want to look into 2x4 ADF lenses - Lincoln Electric makes some, both in fixed and variable shade. The lens that it comes with is fine for most welding and you'll find 2x4.25 lenses everywhere. A welding bib would be a good idea too since these can leak light onto your neckline. People like to chop material off the bottom (it's thin enough plastic that you might get through it with a good set of shears - I haven't tried yet) and rivet bibs on. And if you're handy, which you probably are buying this, you might think about buying some alternate mounting gear. Not that there's anything intrinsically wrong with the 3-C strapping, it's just barebones, but these hoods are easy to modify. That's the big selling point.

This is the one you want
Comfortable and secure. It has the good head band in it. not the cheap rubber band type. Get you a rag to wrap around the forehead piece and you're good to go

Perfect for Ironworkers
Perfect for Ironworkers. The flip lens allows you to grind. Fits auto darkening lens with slight modification.

Ironworkers shield
The traditional go to for us ironworkers. Bought this and slid an auto darkening lens in perfectly with no modifications.

Came as advertised
Just replaced my old one for a new one. Used the last one daily for 7 years. The 2x4 flip broke just below the hinge in the end. I hope this one lasts that long.

Conventional Welding Helmut
This is a regular welding helmet and not a auto-set when you strike an arc.
