Park Tool (140347) Hacksaw, 12-Inch

I got this as I wanted to make sure the carbon cutting blade would fit with no funny business. It is definately a stout hacksaw in comparison to others.

Needed to cut a carbon steerer tube and wanted a saw that had 32t per inch AND held the blade firmly. This one did the trick

Nice and the handle is comfortable

Great hacksaw by an American company

Had to get a carbon blade and this saw to cut a seatpost, having the right tools made me feel a bit better about doing it DIY, cut came out very clean.

I like the quality of the saw the most. I used it to cut down MTB handlebars.

It's like any other hacksaw and it's at similar price point. So, you really aren't paying much of a premium for a "blue" tool. At any rate it came with the correct blade to cut an aluminum steerer tube. Worked well, solid, not flimsy.

This is a really nice hacksaw. It is much much lighter than the Klein hacksaw. Like the Klein however, it is made in China. This is the reason 4 stars instead of 5. The saw arrived with the blade installed upside down, wrapped in cardboard sleeve (normal, to protect other items) and it is a 32 TPI blade to boot. The washer that goes between the tension adjusting knob and the blade holder was on the wrong side of the holder, necessitating a minor re-assembly. The sticker that says "Park Tool SAW-1" is missing on one side (can see where the glue is) and is peeling away on the other side. The saw is painted, not anodized or anything, so it will show signs of wear really fast. The tolerances between moving parts at the handle base is pretty sloppy, some parts rub, which may lead to some premature wear. The rubber handle is nice and grippy, being made of soft rubber. Not sure about it's durability yet though. Overall a really good saw though, and $5 less than the Klein. A place to hold extra blades like the Klein would have been a nice touch, though unnecessary for me, as I carry spares in my toolbag.

Solid build and weighted well
