You need a proprietary cassette tool with notches that fit exactly in the cassette.. a long handle on your crescent or 1” socket is preferable so force can be applied if needed. Torque should be 40 nm on your torque wrench. One last note. Chains, chainrings and cassettes wear simultaneously with each other so you may consider swapping the whole drive train for optimal function.

After replacing the chain on my Surly convrted to e-assist mid-drive, I got all sorts of skipping on the chain which usually is fixed by a new cog. This one did the trick. Be careful about the threads--easy to cross thread.

While I was looking for a replacement for a HG300 11-34 cassette, this one does work.Seems Shimano no longer makes the HG300 in silver.
