The perfect application for this product is to hold a tempered glass chair mat in place when on carpet Most people know only of plastic chair mats which are kind of junk compared to tempered glass ones. However they slide quite easily on carpet and this product will solve that problem. Lowe's and Home Depot do not sell this product and as far as I could tell you can only find it on amazon. My only complaint is that adhesive is in credibly strong and if you have occasion to need to remove them such as moving the glass chair mat from carpet to either hardwood floor or short patio carpet, good luck. The adhesive does not like to come off the glass. One side is flat with very strong adhesive, and the spikes are on the other side.

Furniture Pads Work, but Spikes Are Longer Than Expected I tried these self-stick carpet protectors on the bottom of a few heavier chairs that were leaving dents in my carpet. The pads themselves are clear and stick well—they don’t shift or peel off easily, even when the furniture gets moved around a bit. They definitely do what they’re meant to do: spread out the weight so the carpet doesn’t get those deep marks. Where I ran into an issue was with the little spikes on the bottom. They’re designed to grab into the carpet, which makes sense, but I found them a bit longer than I’d like. On softer carpet, they push in fine, but on a shorter pile rug they can feel excessive and almost like they’re trying to pierce through more than they should. It doesn’t ruin the functionality, but it’s something to be aware of depending on your flooring type. Bottom line: Solid protectors that really help with carpet dents, but keep in mind the spikes may feel a little too long if your carpet is thinner.

These really do work as suggested. I purchased a glass floor mat for my home office, which has a plush carpet. After a few days of having move the glass continuously as it was moving on the carpet I purchased this soft touch self adhesive strips. The installation of this was very easy, basically peel and stick on the areas of the item you want to hold, in my situation I put the items on the front and side barriers of the glass floor mat, and it quite simple. I think this along with the glass floor mat is protecting the carpet and it's holding that glass piece so it doesn't slide all over the floor. That makes my life easier. Overall going to low cost pretty simple solution which has now worked for over several months.

These DO NOT stop your glass chair mat from shifting on low pile carpets. The seem to stick well to the bottom of the glass but still move/shift through the carpet pile. Would not recommend these.

This adhesive is crazy good. I needed these temporarily till a mount I needed came in. They worked perfect. Too good actually cause removing them was a pain. A+

I have not hated a product more than this one. Mat slides more than it did before. Difficult to remove, Others just fall off with the glue coming undone and wrapping around itself. Good idea, application not so much, Would stay away

Long spikes keep the base of the carpet protector from denting your carpet. The 5/8th measurement (over 1/2" or 19mm) is the actual length of the spikes. All regular carpet protector spikes are 1/4" (just 6mm). These spikes are 3 times longer. The base is 3mm or 1/8th inch thick. Regular carpet protectors put a permanent dent in your carpet, just like your furniture does, because pile carpet is deeper than 1/4" which means regular protectors must utilize the base of the protector to support your furniture. These tall protectors points are the support, saving your carpet from dents. The pattern brushes out with the swipe of your hand when removed. There is no pressure into the carpet from the base of the protector. This product is perfect for bookcases or filing cabinets which don't benefit from a plastic cup-style protector. This product should be the first "hit" when searching carpet protectors with tall or long spikes. They function perfectly!

Excellent product. Just what I needed for my new deep pile carpet. Spike are long, strong and self adhesive. You get 8 in this pack. Amazon shipped this in like 2 days from USA to UK!! Just wish someone made a deep pile round one.
