Stanley BDS6010 Accuscape Forged Aluminum Quick Release Bypass Pruner

Had have a similar pair that are over 20yrs old. Over time with everybody using them and the grip wearing out and the blade getting chipped in 2 small spots, I decided to get the exact same ones. and yes the old ones still work better than any other ones i've used. It was a bit difficult to locate these ones on line. We shall see if they last as long as the original ones. There seem to be a few minor differences like the pivot bolt, the locking spring, and the blade color (original was shiny gold this one is matte gold). to early to tell if there is a quality difference.

Best pruners I ever owned hands down and I have bought many. Throw all the rest out and buy this one. Ergonomic, cuts easily and stays sharp.

I had the predecessor model of this pruner and was very happy to find the updates model. This model is basically the same as the previous model, but the locking mechanism has been improved (it is easier to set and release). The pruner fits the hand very comfortably. It is very sharp, and cuts are easy to perform. I feel that the titanium blade extends the time between cleaning the blade. The shortfall that I see with this pruner is the blade to blade tension/pressure becomes loose after extended use. This is easily adjuster with a little turn of the adjustment nut. I also have a small diamond file that I use to keep the blade sharp. I consider this as normal maintence. Note: the file is a separate purchase (does not come with the pruner).

In the past 40 years, I have owned practically every pair of pruning shears on the market. These are definitely the best ones I have ever used. This is my second pair. My last ones are still serviceable, but I bought these just in case they stopped making them. Buy these and have NO regrets.

I was so excited to find these pruners on line !!!! I have had a pair since they first came out & wore out the locking pin that holds in the blade. The 'BIG BOX' stores no longer carry this model & as a professional gardener in need of the ergonomic design of this pair (not the new improved model that I can't use) I am delighted to have them. The price was 1/2 of what I had paid for the original pair, too. They shipped quickly, & are my best daily tool. I use them for several hours of pruning a day.

These are great. They are a little thinner and a little lighter than the average aluminum pruner. They seem a little shorter. They have the push to release lock so you can use them in either hand. They do not advertise the blade as being forge steel but it does not seem to matter. I have 10 different pruners but I generally use these because they fit in my pocket better and seem to work just as well. I know longer handles give you more leverage but I do not think the difference in length between these standard size pruners is enough to be significant.

Favorite clippers that I’ve been unable to find locally

Basic, solid, so sharp I cut the rag and my thumb trying to clean it. Injuries aside, this shear is a joy to use, melts through smaller branches and takes on limbs above the recommended size without much complaint. A solid tool.
