I'm very much a beginner watercolor painter, so not really qualified to rate a brush. For my purposes though it has improved the quality of skies and clouds in my paintings. It holds a good amount of water, I haven't experienced any fibers coming out, and it seems to clean up and dry well. I subtracted a star because to me it's a lot to pay for a brush that I can only do a limited amount with.

This is my best goat hair mop to far. The black hair is better than the white in the same Silver type. I have a $30 Raphael squirrel mop. If better than the Silver it isn't by much. I have the Silver 10 and 12. I have only used the 10. Money well spent. Going to get another. Using it for watercolor.

This is an excellent brush for oil painting. It is both soft and strong. Use for a light touch or moving some paint. Also cleans up easily and maintains its shape.

First thing I noticed was that the brush Farrell was loose and not clamped tight. I expected way more from the Silver company. If I'm going to pay premium prices for brushes, I expect premium quality
