I have quite a few designer 'coffee table' books, I,e, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton, etc, I was really looking forward to this book dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld. He personally took Chanel to a level never seen before in the fashion industry from the moment he took over. Chanel herself would be pleased! While the pictures are absolutely amazing and showcase the brilliance of Karl Lagerfeld, it is very very large book and difficult to handle and read ! You need a large table to set it on and open it up! I was very disappointed and for that reason alone, I could not give it 5 stars. And I will not gift it either for that reason! Karl Lagerfeld was beyond genius!! No one will ever reach his greatness ever! RIP.

Beware- this book is not about the clothes.
This is a book about the SETS. Many of the photos are beautiful, but if you're looking for images of the clothing, you'll be sorely disappointed. I assumed that this book was like Robert Fairer's "Unseen" series, or Roxanne Lowit's backstage photography. Nope. This is largely aerial shots of sets where the models look like ants. Even the closer shots frequently don't show the clothing very well. I personally prefer Benoît Peverelli's "Chanel ― Final Fittings and Backstage". Buy only if you're interested in photos of many of the gorgeous sets.

Lagerfeld The Chanel Shows.
This book is oversized and well produced. Gives a birds eye view of how Chanel shows are produced. Good photography no text, just a visual capture of the grand Chanel experience. Good coffee table book, with a high price tag. Maybe most enjoyed by visual merchandising professionals.

Schnell mal eben hingedengelt
Ein großformatiges Buch das leider den Erwartungen nicht entspricht. Und schon gar nicht für den Preis. Fast alle Fotos eignen sich nicht für dieses Format, sind leicht unscharf und wirken eher wie private Schnappschüsse die in ein privates Fotobuch vom Drogeriemarkt eingescannt wurden. Viele Fotostrecken wiederholen sich in sehr ähnlichen Ausführungen, die Fotos sind stark farbverändert und ich denke, Karl würde sich mit Grausen abwenden. Zudem ist die Verarbeitung denkbar schlecht. Die Bindung ist zu leicht und zwischen einigen Seiten hängen Fäden herum. Hier wurde der Name Lagerfeld dazu benutzt, schnell mal ne Mark zu machen. Schade.

Es un libro grande, con una edición muy buena y con una calidad en las fotografías que hace muy placentera la lectura visual. Las fotos son inéditas en su gran mayoría, y un gran testimonio documental de KL al frente de los desfiles de Chanel.
