Can a regular disc be used for this basket (disc golf disc)

Technically, but the plastic chains are way too light to catch discs. You have to hit the pole for it to stay in the basket. The metal chain version will work better, but probably fail you in other ways.

I was gifted this but turns out that the middle piece is broken. The basket part does not lock into place. Can I get a replacement?
