Long-Lasting & Great Tone!
Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings – The Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings are some of the best strings I’ve used. They offer a rich, warm tone and last significantly longer than most other brands, thanks to their Nanoweb coating. Pros: ✔ Fantastic Tone – The phosphor bronze gives a warm, balanced sound with great clarity. ✔ Long-Lasting – The Nanoweb coating helps prevent dirt and sweat buildup, making them last much longer than regular strings. ✔ Smooth Feel – The coating provides a comfortable playing experience, reducing finger squeak. ✔ Great for Frequent Players – Ideal for those who play often and don’t want to change strings frequently. Cons: ✖ Slightly Expensive – Higher price than some competitors, but worth it for the longevity. ✖ Coated Feel Might Not Be for Everyone – Some players prefer the texture of uncoated strings, but this comes down to personal preference. Final Verdict: If you want acoustic guitar strings that sound great, feel smooth, and last a long time, Elixir Phosphor Bronze is a top-tier choice. The price is higher, but the longevity and tone make them a fantastic investment. – Worth every penny for the tone and durability!

Excellent strings with warm, bright tone!
I installed these Elixir Nanoweb 12-53 strings on my Yamaha acoustic guitar and the difference was immediate — rich, full tone with just the right amount of brightness. They feel smooth under the fingers and stay in tune very well. The coating really helps reduce finger squeak and seems like it will extend the life of the strings. Perfect for both strumming and fingerpicking. Highly recommend for anyone who wants long-lasting, great-sounding acoustic strings.

Great strings - normally pricey, but not here
Elixir Phosphor Bronze guitar strings with the NANOWEB coating are great guitar strings, and while they have normally been pricey, not here, especially when Amazon was not charging sales tax. These strings last longer under pressure. I play my 12 ga. phosphor bronze, nanoweb coated strings on my d41 for 2-4 hrs. a night, 7 nights a week. My callouses are like railroad steel and they start damaging coated strings after 2 weeks. These Elixirs will still ring beautifully and hold tunings for between 45-60 days under that much usage. Most strings I've used would have been dead in two weeks with those stress levels. Additionally they seem to tarnish much less and will shine and look good for the entire period you play them. For someone that only plays occassionally, these strings might last easily for months. Elixir strings seem to me to be a bit mellower than many bronze acoustic/phosphor bronze strings. While they are plenty loud on my guitar, they don't seem to have the bite that uncoated strings can have. The coating on these strings seems to make them play faster. I you wash the oil off your hands with something like Lava, rinse them with warm water until they are tacky and oil-free, let them dry completely and then play, you will notice what I am talking about. Fingerpicking or moving up and down the neck playing individual notes, these suckers are fast. Too bad Amazon is charging sales tax on purchases. I have already found other vendors for these and other products that do not, and will also ship for free. It makes their prices cheaper than Amazon, and everyone knows - price rules. I know that Martin is coming out with a line of coated strings. Others are following, I'm sure. Maybe competition will help bring the price down. I plan to try them but they will have to be pretty good to beat the Elixirs.

Great string, but the feel is not to my liking
These strings sound bright and snappy. I've got them on my Martin OMCPA3 and they don't lack any punch. Tonally they sound as good if not better than the Martin SP Lifespan Phosphor Bronze that came on the guitar. There is no doubt that these strings last long because of the coating that is on them. And this is where I think it comes down to personal preference. I feel the coating when I play the string. To me it feels a little "waxy." And while it doesn't stop me from playing my guitar and enjoying the sound of a really well made string. I probably won't use them again. They are worth the money for the longevity alone but there are other strings out there that have the same coating on them and have a different feel. So worth trying if you hunting for strings. Months later... I've finally worn out the Elixirs and really took them to their max. I was impressed with the long life. If your a studio musician or a pro you won't play them for 4 months like I did. I played these strings at least an hour a day almost everyday for the last four months. I replaced them with the D'Addario EXP16 Coated Phosphor strings. What is immediately clear is there is no initial waxy feeling to these strings like the Elixirs, HOWEVER, the EXPs lack the crisp 'new string' feeling we all love with a new set. The EXPs are not as bright or snappy as the Elixirs. I've play the EXP strings for at least a month and they have been consistent since I put them on. That is a little disappointing because I think they never had the bright crisp sound the Elixirs provided. I'm going to raise my rating from 3 to 4 stars, and wear out these EXPs as quickly as possible.

Warm and Smooth...They just work!
I have cycled through many different acoustic strings over the years from all the major brands to even smaller "boutique" brands and I always return to Elixir Phosphor Bronze. They are what my guitar tech and luthier have always recommended and what they have always put on my guitars when they have done any type of work to them because they know ultimately it is the brand that will bring out the real sound of any acoustic. To me, these strings have a kind of "slinky" feel that makes them easy to install. They wind easily and tune up quickly with very little need of settling before staying in tune. The light coating on the strings helps immensely in calming down that sound of fingers sliding on new strings. That "squeal" that all guitarists know. They don't slip and because of that they hold their tune for a very long time. I switch back and forth between fingerpicking and using a pick and I very rarely need to tune. Usually a quick tune check at the beginning of a set and I am good to go! As I get older I have had to go down a gauge in my electric strings but these are so comfortable and play so effortlessly that I have been able to continue to play a 12-53 set with very little to no hand fatigue at all. I would highly recommend these strings to anyone from a beginner to a seasoned professional without hesitation. Even though they are on the pricier side they are worth every penny. The coating truly does extend the life of these strings far beyond that of regular or uncoated strings. I would describe the tone as warm and smooth. It makes any acoustic simply sing and sound like an old friend. What can I say, they just work!

A worthy upgrade!
Amazing feel, upgraded from Daddario and the difference is quite significant. The dynamic range of sound is unmatached to all the strings I've tried so far. These sound amazing right out of the box, and get better after a week or so. Quite smooth and easy on the fingers, that makes it much more fun to play. Highly recommended for someone looking for a warm and balanced sound on their guitar.

Consistent tone, long life, and great feel
I’ve been using these Elixir Phosphor Bronze Nanoweb strings on my acoustic guitar and they continue to impress. They have a warm, balanced tone right out of the pack with clear highs and a solid low end. The coated Nanoweb finish really does extend their life. They stay sounding fresh far longer than uncoated strings, which is a big plus if you play regularly or perform live. They also feel smooth under the fingers and are easy on the hands during longer sessions. Overall, these are reliable, great-sounding acoustic strings with excellent longevity. A go-to choice if you want consistent tone and fewer string changes.

Great sounding strings with excellent longevity
Really happy with these strings. They have a nice bright tone without sounding too sharp, feel great to play, and seem to last much longer than the cheaper strings I’ve used before. Tuning settled in quickly after restringing and they’ve stayed sounding fresh with regular use. A bit pricier, but worth it for the durability and sound quality. Would definitely buy again.
