Essential for audiophiles
I was really glad to discover that Shure offers these silicone triple-flange tips in addition to the standard memory foam. While the foam tips offer excellent noise isolation and are generally quite comfortable, I found the soft foam ended up muffling low-bass notes, resulting in a distinctly fuzzy sound on anything particularly bass-heavy. These tips, on the other hand, produce a nice, clean sound over the whole frequency range, while still providing good isolation as well. Additionally, when using the foam tips, if I am not playing audio through the headphones but want to leave them in my ears, I find outside sounds are distinctly muffled, making it harder to hear or understand people without pulling the headphones out. On the other hand, the triple-flange tips still do reduce the outside noise level effectively, but without muffling or distorting certain frequencies, making them able to function similarly to good-quality earplugs with a fairly even frequency response when not playing music and such. With the triple-flange tips, there is also more flexibility in how much isolation is desired, as they can be inserted less or more firmly to adjust how tight a seal is formed, which can't really be done well with the foam tips. A couple of notes: Some people find these tips more uncomfortable than the foam tips. My general experience is that this is true initially, but if one spends a bit of time getting used to them they will soon become more comfortable, so it's worth trying to wear them for a little while before giving up. These tips also have a much longer shaft than the default tips, which can cause the headphones to stick out of the ears more, however I found this was easily remedied by simply snipping off the excess shaft of the tips using some scissors, so they now sit flush in my ears the same as the original tips.

Comfortable and Noise Isolating
After getting the Shure SE846s and trying out all the sleeves, I found the triple flange ones to be my favorites. They sit super deep into the ear, which can take some getting used to but they're really comfortable and noise isolating. Of all the options (and they give you a TON), I liked the triple flanges the most since the sound is so clear, they sit very comfortable in my ear despite a bump in the ear canal, and and they very efficiently isolate the vast majority of external noise. I also like these because they're cheap enough that I can replace them as often as I want. After some time they form to the inside of your ears, which means they'll end up folding in on themselves to mimic the shape of your ear. This is good since it's comfortable, but after some time they get a bit loose, and I like to replace them regularly. These are affordable enough that you can replace them as often as you want, either it's monthly or quarterly or even longer than that. Really, you don't have to replace them ever, but I like to do it just to make sure the fit is maintained for a long time. I highly recommend these if you also like the triple flange sleeves that come with your Shures.

If you can handle the discomfort, these are The Best!
Ok, so Im a maniac about my Shure SE 535s. I love the incredible sound these IEMs are capable of. For years I have been using Shures Yellow Foam tips. The seal is great, they are comfortable, and the sound is excellent. But when I bought Shures wireless Bluetooth Cable, I was inspired to try the Triple Flanges again. Once I was able to get them seated correctly, I gave a very close listen and did a thorough comparison. The Triple Flanges are better. The only problem is, the Flanges are inherently uncomfortable. I tried every combination of trimming them down: I cut the top flange off. (Kills the dynamic range they are capable of. Like turning a great studio monitor into a mediocre 2 way bookshelf speaker) I tried cutting the bottom flange off. (Really killed the isolation and bass response) The only thing that improved the comfort without killing the sound was to cut 4mm of the stem off at the base of the flanges. Makes the cone shorter so the monitor can sit in your ear more easily. The sound is maintained. And concerning the sound, this is why they are worth the discomfort: The sound is amazingly accurate, detailed, fast articulation, incredibly balanced, deep full bass with an amazing dynamic range and quality. There is an uncanny resonance you can here in the sound. The foam tips just dont present that. They may sound pretty good, but not this good. Hopefully, over time I will become accustomed to the weird feeling they create inside my ear canals. I will hold out hope. It is worth the sacrifice.

Exactly what I was looking for, works great with my UM Pro 30 Westones
I had a old pair of Westones that were given to me (I think a single armature model) and included in the gift were triple flange ear tips. I've been looking for a new set of triple flange ear tips ever since the old ones wore out. I think these were likely the exact same ear tips I had previously and they're amazing. Honestly I can't believe Westone doesn't sell a triple flange ear tip of their own because these increase the bass performance of their in-ear headphones so much. They seem to seal the bass in, kind of like a closed back headphone. The Westone UM Pro 30's feel more balanced this way and less overly bright. I had a pretty difficult time finding the specs on the UM Pro 30 nozzle size. These tips do fit rather snuggly, so a small trick to get them on but I don't think they'll fall off randomly so it works just fine. The material used for these tips appears to be of high quality rubber. I don't think it's silicone but It's possible I am mistaken. I definitely recommend these ear tips! Worth every penny for my personal bass response preferences.

Fix to make them LAST MUCH LONGER
Westone NOTE: These Shure tips are the same tips included in the tip pack with Westone 4 earphones. You only get 1 pair in the Westone pack and they do not offer a replacement for just these tips. You must pay over $20 for the pack and you only get a single set of these tips. REVIEW: These tips worked better for me than any of the other style tips I've tried. But don't be fooled by reviews; ALL EARS ARE DIFFERENT!!! Try them all and use what works for you. If this style works best, USE IT! As a triple flange tip goes this tip has pros and cons. Pros: The stem on this tip is longer than most tips which gives you the ability to push it deeper into the ear canal if you need to. Also, the stem opening is smaller than most so it fits much tighter on the earphone's stem making it less likely to come off the earphone and stay lodged in your ear when you try to take them out of your ears. Cons: Being a stiffer rubber than some of the other tips, it tends to have more of a 'memory' and starts to retain the shape of the ear canal fairly quickly. Over time, this memory prevents the tip from 'spreading out' and it therefore loses the sealing ability that it had. FIX: I decided to try something after each use and I have gotten spectacular results. After each use (used for in-ear monitors during rehearsals and shows), I wash them and then flip the large and middle flange up and leave it until the next use. This resets the memory they tend to develop and even spreads the flange out a little more. I get an even better seal after using this method than I did on the brand new pair! They are lasting a long time now--four months and still sealing tight!

Quiet like an earplug, perfect audio experience for a motorcycle
I've used these for a LONG while and am finally needing to order another set after around 18 months. each pair will need the ends slightly trimmed to match the wanted depth in your ear with an IEM. My preferred use of these was for listening to music with IEMs in a motorcycle helmet. The fit and noise reduction are superb. You can wear these for 4 to 6 hours daily without issue. The sound isolation and ambient noise reduction were so good that almost all of the music (and most importantly your hearing) is preserved even at 70mph. After extended use, they will eventually conform to your ear canal and lose the perfect seal. But, after 6 month you probably want a new pair as they'll begin to yellow. For the price, you should have zero hesitation to buy these. They should honestly come standard.

Works great with Westone AM Pro 20 and 30 - After a couple of uses lost a goo seal
EDITED: Took off two stars, because they lost the ability to seal after only a couple 2.5 hour uses. So while they work great to begin with, they are not useful for very long. Be sure to use the method of making them last longer by another reviewer. Wash them after each use and then flip up the middle flange. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Why aren't triple flange ear tips included with all ear buds? I bought these because of a review on YouTube. The gentleman gave a bad review of the Westone IEMs because the tips that it came with just didn't fit and that made the sound form the IEMs terrible. He echoed my sentiment about my Westone AM Pro 30s (I have some AM Pro 20s too). I had purchased these expensive IEMs and they were not living up to my expectations. I couldn't get the custom fitted ear molds because these are the ambient IEMs that let a little of the outside in. The whole issue was the included ear tips either didn't make a good seal or they would come loose or were uncomfortable. The guy bought these triple flanged ear tips and said the IEMs were perfect now, because he had a good seal. He was right, because I bought them and my Westones sound incredible! I can hear so much detail now and don't need to have the volume up as loud. The tips are silicon so they are soft and comfortable. I was able to even customize them to fit my ear canals. After putting these on my IEMs they were kind of long and the IEMs didn't seat in my ear enough. They needed to be shorter. I cut the stem so that it was even with the last (largest flange) and had a perfect fit on the left side. The right ear has a larger canal and for that side I cut off the first flange and a smidge of the stem. Now I have a perfect set of ear tips for both sets of IEMs.

Comfort With Full Noise Blocking
Shure has a useful set of ear adapters for their in-ear headphones. I used the "mushroom" shaped foam pads that seem to be most common with the SE series for the better part of a year and loved them aside from the slight irritation my ears continued to have. After going through the last pad in pack of the foam pads (Shure PA10S, PA10M, or PA10L depending on your size), I forgot to order more. I tore a foam pad and had none left with a gig that day. The earphones came with a pair of these EATFL1 silicone rubber "triple-flange sleeves." So I tried them. I will NOT go back to the ear-irritating foam pads. These block the stage noise amazingly well and let me really concentrate without having the desire to rip the things out of my ears and scratch. They go into the ear and are effective in much less time than the foams. That can be critical if you miss a queue now and then and are sitting without your monitors in your ears. With the foams I run deaf for about 5 seconds as I wiggle the things around in my ears to get them pointed the right way. Not good as the earphones made me look even more unprofessional! With the Triple Flange Sleeves, it is in and ready... and they are so comfortable I use my Shure earphones for all my listening now.

The best fit out of all the Shure earbuds
I've tried all Shure's earbuds in all their variations and sizes and, for me, these are the best fit by a country mile, as they provide the best comfort and sound isolation. I cut off the smallest of the 3 cones for a better fit. It's also worth watching the short video clips on YouTube of how to fit Shure earbuds properly. In a nutshell, reach round the back of your head with your opposite hand and pull your ear back and up before inserting. It does make a massive difference!
