Highly functional. Beautifully made so that they *do* function so well. Elegantly simple. My salmon's best friend.
Highly functional. The ground tips come together with a close fit that easily grips bones protruding only a short distance from the cut fish surface. Beautifully made of hardened 18-8 (type 304) stainless steel, they are work hardened--cold bent and formed--giving the tweezers' good spring recovery and magnetic properties from the resulting ferritic state of the 304 stainless. Highly polished for easy and thorough cleaning by hand or in a dishwasher. Speeds the removal of pin bones common in salmon filets. When the tweezers gripping the bone are pulled away not so fast that the bone breaks before releasing from the fish tissue, the bone extraction is reliably repeatable. Only problem is they're easy to misplace; fortunately they will stick to a magnetic knife bar for organization.Purchasing and using these tweezers before dining is much less expense and trouble than a visit to an emergency room to have the bones removed from your guest's throat later.

Worth the price
If you eat a lot of fish, as I do, fishbones are an inevitable annoyance. Yes, you can use any old tweezer or even a pair of pliers to remove them but this is stuff you're going to eat, buy a dedicated tweezer you know is totally clean. These tweezers curve around at the tips so you grasp only the bone, none of the flesh. They are nicely engineered, each part of the broad head meets precisely; it really makes quick work of de-boning. They're good quality heavy stainless steel and made in Japan where they really understand the art of fish preparation!

I was a doubter!
Avid salmon fisherman but hate eating around bones and I was so sick of picking bones with a pair of pliers that I had taken to just cutting out the small strip of meat with bones in it. I strongly doubted that these could really be that much better than a pair of pliers but took a chance. I am so glad that I did. These work SO much better! Grips the bones and pops them right out. Hard to believe that something so simple could be so much better but they are. Take a chance…you’ll be glad you did.

Not What I Ordered
I had the same experience as other reviewers - the product pictured is not what I received. Rather than a flat tip, I too got an angled tip (which didn't even line up essentially rendering this useless). Additionally, the packaging around the tweezers themselves arrived open to the point where I could slide the tweezers in and out without any effort. Further, the packaging indicates that the product was made in China vs. Japan as stated on the Amazon page.Update: I complained to the seller about receiving a different product and they mailed me the correct product. This one came without any packaging at all, but it seems to be much higher quality. While the seller was pretty responsive, I wouldn't order this unless you're willing to complain when you get the wrong item.

Not writing a sales pitch yet this has elevated me from novice to amatuer professional
When stainless steel pliers are overkill, these work great for getting all those pin bones and doing delicate work with fish. Worked great for me with salmon, tuna, halibut - deep sea fishing and fresh water. I like making sushi, and this is a must. Further, I have some picky eaters who like salmon and tuna and other fish, but once they encounter a bone, they can't eat any more. When preparing fish, I use this tool and it works as I expect and need. Being stainless steel, I can run through the dishwasher, and also not have to worry about rust in the caustic Ocean/marine environments I frequent. From campsite to fancy table, behind the scenes, I use this.

Super (IF YOU GET the GOOD ONE)
SEE UPDATEI've yet to clean up a fillet with these tweezers, but have used them for numerous other things and find that they are great for any price and am confident they will excel in the kitchen. I'm buying 3 more pairs, two for gifts and a second set for myself. Mine are exactly as pictured, measuring a bit over 4.5 inches long x 1/2 inch at the tip and hinge, tapering in the mid-section. If I had to be picky, I might complain about the light stamping of the "18 STAINLESS STEEL" and that "MADE IN JAPAN" is only a sticker. But I'm not picky. Recommended without reservation.UPDATE: I ordered three more pairs based upon the wonderful tweezers I reviewed above. I DID NOT RECEIVE three of the "SUPER" tweezers, I got the JUNK that every bad review here speaks of. The shape of the tweezers is different, the tips are angled, the tips are not square (one of three is), the finish is less polished, and there are no stampings or stickers indicating the grade of steel or country of origin. I AM RETURNING them and have knocked this review back to a 3-star. I am ZERO star satisfied with the _NOT AS PICTURED_ tweezers. This is not good selling, a misrepresentation. The first review was for GREAT fish bone tweezers, This UPDATE is for junk. Roll of the dice it appears.AS indicated in the comments there, "Amazon" fulfillment sent the good tweezer, LUCCA sent the same tweezer as is sold here in a separate listing for $1.98. I'm re-ordering, will report.

Cheap Chinese product
It's a Japanese product but made in China. Looks so tiny and not great quality

Works well
Works well on fresh snapper fillets to remove the pin bones so that my son who hates anything with bones can enjoy his fish fillets. A must for any fisherman that also keeps his catch for a meal.

Breaks fish pin bones
Useless. Rather than giving me a strong grip on salmon pin bones to pull them out, they clamp so hard that they snap the bones.

Una herramienta de buena calidad, tamaño y desempeño
Son pinzas, no ciencia nuclear. El agarre de las puntas es bueno, y el tamaño de pinza permite jalar con la fuerza suficiente las espinas. El grosor del metal es bueno.
