Works great.

I installed this on my 14x42 intex XTR above ground pool yesterday. Online videos were extremely helpful. At first I cut the hole for opening and put the butterfly gasket on. Unfortunately it pulled and then my screw holes didn’t line up so I ended up cutting the gasket into 2 pieces which worked much better. Used an adapter that screwed into the bottom and then added an intex plunger valve and then a screw on hose. Initially I had minor leakage. Then I went back with my #3 Phillips head screw driver and tightened the screws slowly as to not strip them out and the leak stopped. It is possible to install this by yourself on the outside of the pool as long as you line the screws and holes up well and put pressure on the skimmer with your body. I used an ice pick to make my screw holes. That worked fine. Got plumbers silicone grease to lube up all sides of the gasket. I plan to reinforce the skimmer but as of right now it’s sitting very stable on the side of the pool. Super easy to connect using the adapter for intex but it does come with its own adapter that you can use a slide on hose and clamp. Came with clean water inlet fitting as well. This fitting also will work for intex but I prefer the aeration system I have. My only complaint is the basket. It’s so small and no handle. I’m going to make a handle with a long zip tie or maybe some floral wire that is covered in rubber so it won’t rust. Great purchase and great price. All parts have replacements right here on Amazon.

After spending 5 hours trying to get the screws to go all the way in, I do not understand the reviews that say they just "screwed it on" like it was easy. The holes the screws went in on the skimmer were not a match or not threaded. I used so much energy trying to get the screws tight enough to keep our pool from leaking that I was sore a few days after. My husband tried too and the screws did not go in far enough to tighten the plastic square around the gasket to keep it from leaking. We had many screws get stripped before we could get them tightened enough. The other difficult thing was the screws they sent were flat, so trying to screw a flat end through a tight plastic liner was awful. I got so worried I had ruined our pool until my husband suggested we try different screws. He made a trip to the hardware store and got some that were the same thickness, better material, and had points on them. See picture. We replaced all the screws we received and they tightened much better and stopped the leaks. Thank goodness! If the manufacturer of this can improve the screws that come with it, this product would be so much better. The skimmer is great and comes with a lot of attachments and does work. It was a good value too. Just replace the screws if you receive flat ones and you will love this product.

Best purchase for our pool. Highly recommend! This has made a huge difference in our pool this year. Very easy to install.

When you get this and you see you have to cut your liner you about poop yourself! We were scared to death! But it comes with a template to trace and it’s actually super easy! Go ahead you can do it! It makes cleaning your pool so much easier. It gets a lot more of stuff out of your pool water than those cheap crappy hang over the side skimmers. This is connected to your pump so it’s getting suction to it and making the stuff come to the skimmer and get stuck to be cleaned out. Works amazing!

I used this on my vinyl above ground pool o just carefully cut out the shape needed after marking it with a sharpie cut it out used a exact knife cut the holes out too little difficult lining up the bolts and I had to cut them off a little because they would tighten all the way I think it’s intended for a thicker sided pool and mines just like canvas thick but I bolted it down going around like a tire and it is great I put a piece of block styro foam between it and the wall so it would sit straight as the sides of my pool are rounded but it’s working fine good quality and product for a very reasonable price thank you

It replaced my skimmer that our pool had. Everything fit perfectly. Not hard to install. The screw instructions were a little weird but it’s installed no issues no leaks.

The risk taking is a bit worrying, however, the results pays of! Inproved the flow and the water is much clearer due to all surface impurities being removed. The listing is not showing all info, but the connector didn't need any adapters and the gasket is already Butterfield. I should add that I installed it while the pool was at highest water level. My logic behind it is that this will be the optimal liner tension while in use, so I installed the skimmer without cutting the liner, did all the connections, and then cut the liner.

Because of a sub grade filter system, our cheaply made pool would not stay clean. Instead getting rid of it, my husband bought all the parts to set up a real pump and filter system. Works like a charm now

The door broke off within the next month, maybe it can’t tolerate Riyadh heat and sun but now i have to find a better replacement
