Honest Review from an AMD Enthusiast
PROS: - She's blazing fast when done right. With my cooling setup, I was able to hold it stable at 5.1GHz. Performance at those speeds is very impressive. - For what you can get from it, the price point is reasonable, especially when compared with Intel chips. - For multitasking (video editing and the like) this CPU is incredible. CONS: - As stated before, there's not much room for overclocking, so if you want it to run at 5.0+, you're going to need some skill. - This thing runs HOT AS BLAZES. You will need either a really good liquid cooling solution (dual fan dedicated radiator or better) or an absolutely incredible air cooling solution. I honestly don't think air cooling is viable, but at stock clocks it should be fine. Concerning details such as the CPU's 220 wattage and limited selection of motherboard compatibility, these are things you should be researching before you buy the product. I have an ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z. Overall, I don't regret the purchase and still feel it's a better buy than much of what Intel offers, especially considering the price.

Just buy the 8350. This one barely lasts a year.
This item should work right out of the box. It doesn't. For about 5 hours, my screen would freeze and I had to restart my computer. This would happen every time there was anything even remotely graphically intense running on my screen. Even a simple adobe flash video would freeze it. I have a lot of extra parts and duplicates of what is in my machine, so I carefully removed each part and replaced it with another to try and pinpoint where the issue was. At first I thought it might be a driver issue, so I made sure I had the most up to date drivers. That didn't work, so I switched my 7950's out for my 270x's and had the same problem. I considered that maybe it was a crossfire issue, so I removed one card and the crossfire, no change. I then did a test on my ram to make sure all 32gb were working and they were flawless. I switched out hard drives to see if for some reason that was an issue and reinstalled windows as well as all updates. No dice. Finally I decided to take off my liquid cooling and switch out the CPU. BAM! It worked! Sadly, if my CPU had to be switched out, that meant there was an issue with the new 9590 that I purchased. I searched online for people experiencing the same problems and found that in order for the 9590 to work, I would need to enter the bios, turn off C1 and C6 as well as the turbo. I know many of you are thinking, "You probably didn't have enough power for everything! The 9590 is very power hungry!" Well, I did have enough power with my 1200w Corsair when all that was really needed was a 700w Rosewell. I'm not very happy with the purchase, but I'm not entirely dissapointed because it IS better than my previous CPU. I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone as it's really just a slightly more powerful 8350. Just buy the 8350 for less and get almost the exact same performance with less power usage. ***UPDATE*** After only 14 months the CPU died. Biggest waste of money.

Good, cheap but really hot!
Good and cheap product..... very fast and stable running at 5ghz with up to 4 cores at 100%. However, it was impossible to obtain 5ghz stability using 8 cores at 100%. Even with a corsair h100i, temps increase over 70C after 5 minutes. Max "8 core stable freq." is 4.9ghz, with 1.56 Vcore (some Digi+ manipulation) and temps increasing up to 63C (but remaining there after many hours). Amazing results for HPC, but -nonetheless- cooling is crucial.... Alleged 5.3ghz under watercooling is just a myth or a very short-time figure for benchmarking.... impossible for 24/7 gamming or HPC use.

Alors oui, de la puissance ! Impressionnant.

WOW! I have tried almost every AM2 and AM3 chip available, This CPU is a beast. If you're in the market for an AMD CPU, don't hesitate, do your self a favor and order this one. 8 Cores running @ 5.2Ghz water cooled sits at 20 degrees and is rock solid. I actually want to order another one just because. Works awesome for games, on par with a 6700k, THIS IS an amaizing chip. 100% satisfied. I haven't overclocked yet, as I haven't needed too.
