Works great. Easy to use, once you understand the alignment. Made a huge improvement on cutting speed. On my Ego electric 16” saw, this meant that the batteries lasted longer when back in the woods.

It was a cool crisp February afternoon when I heard a gentle knock on my front door. By the time I got to the door and opened it I had just a glance at the big brown truck leaving my driveway. A quick scan of the front porch led to the discovery of a brown cardboard box with a happy Prime smile emblazoned on the side. It was the big day! Only two days after placing my order, my new Stihl 3/8” 2 in 1 Easy File Chainsaw Chain Sharpener had been delivered! I headed out to my shop to try it out on my Stihl chainsaw, with which, only a few days ago I carelessly tried to sever a rock that was lying out of sight, just on the other side of the fallen pine tree I was working on. After that unfortunate episode my Stihl 361 chainsaw was pretty-much useless.I was happy to see the unit was expertly packaged and came with its own protective clear plastic pouch. I marveled at how well the sharpener was made. From the quality files to the sturdy polymer handles that are embossed with idiot proof graphics designed to help me handle my sharpening chores. I secured my saw, and started in. After a look at the graphics, I quickly got the hang of restoring my severely damaged cutters to pristine razor-sharp form, and at the same time lowering the depth gauge. A few minutes later I was out at the aforementioned tree standing in a pile of sawdust with a very large grin on my face! I just love a quality tool that produces quality results! The Stihl 2 in 1 Easy File Chainsaw Sharpener restored my damaged chain to factory fresh cutting ability in a mater of minutes! I bought another one for my smaller saw and I would recommend this sharpener in a heartbeat!

In case you are wondering which size of this tool to get, look at the label on your Stihl chansaw bar. Mine said "3/8 P" so that is the size I got. (Before I knew that I spent at least an hour trying to figure out what size chain I had.)This is my first chainsaw sharpener. Before this I would buy a new chain every time my old one wore out! But I didn't do very much cutting. Recently I needed to do a lot of cutting on a dead tree in my backyard (it's hardwood), so I absolutely had to buy a chain sharpener (or go broke buying new chains).It took me a few tries before I actually figured out how to use this tool properly. The instructions are not in English. All I could go by were the drawings which I did not find very helpful. I would recommend going on YouTube and watching some of the videos. After I did that I was sharpening like a pro with this tool.I am deducing 1 star for the instructions. otherwise I would give this 5 stars.

This chain sharpener works really well. Its worth every penny

Project Farm reviewed all kinds of sharpeners, simple and complex. I was in the market for one b/c chains are not cheap. He loved this one so I bought it. It works great as long as you pay attention to how it's supposed to work and keep the angle right. That's actually harder than you'd think because it has two sides and each only goes one way. I can't believe how well this worked. I used my Dewalt 60v saw to cut up a some railroad ties and if you've ever done this, you know how bad it is for chains. I had to sharpen the chain probably 10 times and every time it tore through the tie until the tie defeated it. I am glad I bought this. Sometimes simple things are best.

Would give this 10 stars if I could. Easiest, fastest and cheapest way to keep your chainsaw chain sharp. You don't need to be a chainsaw mechanic to use it - lots of good videos on line that step you through what is really a very simple process. A few minutes and your saw chain is sharp and ready to go.You do need to know what kind of chain you have - size, pitch etc. Again videos clearly tell you how to identify the right sharpener for YOUR chain. I have two different saws and have two of these. Don't pay to have your chains sharpened any more.There are unbranded versions but I like knowing these come from a supplier like Stihl.

I have to admit that I don’t have a lot of experience sharpening chainsaw chains, but that might also be the beauty of this tool.I followed the instructions and sharpened the blades on one side of the chain with about 3 strokes each. Once I’d made it all the way around, I did the other side.This tool makes maintaining the proper angle easy and it simultaneously knocks down the depth gauges while sharpening.The seasoned veteran may think this overkill and suggest you need nothing more than a round file. While likely true, this tool nets you results as if it was sharpened by someone much more experienced, without the time commitment and learning curve.Easy to use, effective and not outlandishly expensive. It’s a win. I definitely recommend it.

I have always agreed that the sharpest a chain will ever be is when it is brand new. The currant chain on the saw was new and now has been sharpened with this tool 3 times and I cant tell the difference between the first time I used it the new chain, and now. So easy to use, and great results (so far)

Excelente afilador, es tal cual como aparece en la imagen, temía que no fuera el que anuncian, por algunos comentarios que vi, pero hoy puedo decir que si es igual y sobretodo que si funciona.

This simple but clever tool makes chain saw sharpening very easy and the results are amazing. It is simple to use and it only takes a few minutes to sharpen a chain. It is all set up for perfect cutting angles and sharpens the teeth and reduces the rakers at the same time. You go around once for right-sloped teeth, flip the sharpener over and go around again for the left-sloped teeth. Highly recommended.
