Love this paper so much! Amazing for my oil pastels

Love canson, been using these on the smooth side of the paper for pastels.

Got this along with a set of soft pastels for my niece, and they work perfectly together. The paper has a nice tooth to it that holds the pigment well, and the quality feels great. Nice thickness, no bleed-through, and the assorted colors give some fun options to play with. Great pad for anyone getting into art or building up their supplies!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I love the colors and the feel of this paper

I haven't used the paper yet, but I've used similar and believe it will be good for soft pastels. However, I gave it 4 stars because one of the papers was folded, and thus destroyed. It should have been check before it was sent to me.

Review of this product pertains only to using with Oil Pastel medium. This paper works extremely well with Oil Pastels, mostly independent of the pastel quality: mid-range grades of o. pastels (haiya Ruebens) are much easier to blend and layer, as are Harder o.pastels (CrayPas, eg). Sennelier and similar softer brands deliver outstanding results: The Brightness of certain colors are particularly enhanced. On the rougher paper side, the Tooth thickness allows more layering than the Canson Water Color stock I typically use - Indeed, I had to relearn many color application techniques I highly recommend this product, even to beginners in the Oil Pastel media. It is not terribly expensive and is definitely easier to work with compared to most substrates.

Best paper for Faber Castell premier colored pencils.

Paper weight is too light for pastels. It will not hold up to heavy layering. It’s barely heavy enough for pencil use. Professional artists look elsewhere.

Pastel artists know this is one of the best and less expensive papers you can use with your soft pastels. Sanded surfaces are preferred by many, but this smoother surface takes quite a few layers and grabs the colours nicely. For $17 you can't go wrong. A great product.

Das ist leider überhaupt nicht geeignet um mit Pastell Kreiden zu Zeichnen. Nimmt nicht genügend Schichten auf. Mag sein dass es für Bleistift Zeichnungen ausreicht. Aber dennoch bin ich ein wenig enttäuscht. Schade

The honeycomb texture made difficult to fill in the paper it's not worth the price

A good. selection of earth tone colours in this pad of pastel paper. Nice weight and grain on paper. Found it to be suitable for colour pencil as well as for pastels.
