OXO Good Grips Corn Prep Peeler

This corn kernel remover works great once you get the hang of it.I have always stripped ears of corn using a chef's knife... why buy a tool when I have a knife that can do the same job? Well, it is MUCH easier and faster with this tool, that's why. It takes a minute to figure out how to get it started and get a neat even cut. Once I got going with it, I wish I had bought it years agoLike pretty much everything OXO, the quality is excellent. This tool is plenty sharp for the job and isn't going to fall apart. Well made. Good value. Quality design and construction. I expect to have and use this tool for a very long time. Highly recommend this corn kernel stripper.I will also be buying more to give as gifts to my cook friends.

I just finished creaming a large bag of corn, and this tool made the job so much easier! It was comfortable to grip, glided smoothly along the cob, and removed the kernels and juice with ease. Best of all, it kept the mess from spraying everywhere. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who processes fresh corn.

Works surprisingly well. I use it to get fresh cooked refrigerated corn onto my salad. Quick and easy.

This works quite well. Not as good as my mandolin, but if I am only doing a few ears this is what I will reach for. The clean up of the mandolin is only worth it if I do many ears so I have corn to freeze.

This peeler is amazing! Cut the corn with no problem at all! It was so fast and I wasn’t worried about cutting my hand or fingers ;). Made creaming a bushel of corn so easy! Oh, and it didn’t dull either! Thanks!

I bought one a few years back and this one is for gift. I love this kitchen tool. Cuts the corn off with little effort. Cuts exactly where it supposed to with the guide so no corn is wasted.

I was skeptical, but this is fantastic! One clean sweep and it takes the corn off the cob! It does leave them in little sheets, but when you can take all of the corn off in seconds, who cares?! Best gadget ever!

I was really excited to try this because it made removing corn kernels look so easy. We buy sweet corn in bulk from a local farm and blanch it before cutting it off the cob to freeze, so the corn is not fully cooked. That may have contributed to some of the difficulty I had using this.I have pretty bad arthritis in my hands, so I was hoping this would make the process easier. On the first cob, it seemed to work well at first, but when I looked closer, it had only removed the top half of many of the kernels, leaving a lot of corn behind on the cob.It works somewhat like a potato peeler, but I found that I had to hold it at a very specific angle and use quite a bit of firm pressure to get the full kernels off. If I didn’t have the angle exactly right, it would cut into the cob itself, leaving small pieces of cob mixed in with the kernels, which made them unpleasant to eat.I eventually stopped using it because the amount of pressure and control required was difficult with my arthritis, and I was also becoming concerned that I might slip and cut myself.This may work much better on fully cooked corn, but unfortunately it didn’t work well for our blanched sweet corn and wasn’t as easy or arthritis-friendly as I had hoped.

Excellent kitchen tool and it works well to remove corns, as advertised.

I wish I'd bought one of these years ago. It strips corn kernels off the cob with ease and much faster than using a knife. It also produces fewer part kernels. Comfortable to hold. Simple to use. However, as others have said, the serrated edge is very sharp.

Easy to use and does a good job.
