I wasn’t really expecting a huge improvement for $40 but any improvement counts. Bought this (8” 8ohm) to replace the stock speaker in the Fender Champion 20 I bought used but in mint condition. It actually sounded pretty good clean, but the speaker was quitting with a sound that can only be described as audio diarrhea by the time volume and gain got to about 3 and it was fully checked out by 4.When I opened the box and compared the new to the original, they looked very similar, but there were differences. In the original, the magnet is about the same diameter but a little shorter, but the adhesive in the cone was the biggest visual difference. The original speaker has adhesive covering the outer inch or so and about a quarter inch around that inner piece of the cone. It’s very neatly done in both, but I’d think it’s quicker to break in just the paper cone than it is the cone soaked in adhesive.Anywho, swapped it in in about five minutes. If you’re replacing the speaker in a Fender Champion 20, you’ll need to replace the spade connector on the negative terminal - it’s a different/smaller size from the positive and from both on the Celestion. Alternatively, for a short term fix, you can use the shrink wrap on the small connector to hold the back side of the connector tight against speakers connector while you wait for the right part to come in from Amazon. 😁And then I plugged in. I’m not good. But not counting the time the guy at the guitar shop sat me in front of a Princeton and then a Deluxe with a $300 distortion pedal, it was the best sound I’ve ever made with a guitar/amp. It was shocking. Turns out I had left the Blues Driver on, which had previously been unusable with the old speaker. It was epic though. Couldn’t stop playing.Every setting combination sounded better than it had previously. The built in reverb was audible. The wah on the dial didn’t get lost in the flubbering squirting sound because there was no diarrhea happening.I pushed the gain to Max once I turned off the Blues Driver, and the circuit was clipping but the speaker had no issues and it still sounded pretty good. Certainly much much better. I only took the volume to 4 or so while the gain was maxed, because it’s kind of late, all I really needed, and I didn’t want to push the full 20 watts into the 15 watt speaker on day one.Overall a great improvement for an inexpensive amp that really seems to want to be great. Installed this in a little Fender Frontman 15G practice amp. You can see a clear difference in the size of the speaker/magnet from the stock speaker. This resulted in a clear difference in the quality of the sound coming from the amp. It's a fuller, warmer sound now making this a pretty decent little amp. Distortion is crunchier, not as harsh and tinny as before. This was definitely worth it to make this little practice amp something worth playing through.

I think they were going for a V30 sound. To my ears this sounds the same as a 12" greenback. Not to say the V30 doesn't sound like that too. It's not just the same ballpark. The blue, green, and V30 are sitting right next to each other in that ballpark. But it sounds closer to the green or blue. And that makes it the most amazing sounding thing in the world in a tiny closeback cabinet like the one from Orange. Best replacement made for their little 8" enclosure. And I mean there's no contest at all. At 10" you can argue. Not at 8". There isn't a single other 8" made that sounds like a 12" in a close back cab but this one. This is the perfect small amp speaker. No, it's not ever going to be loud enough to gig with. But could you pull off a convincing 4x12 replacement recording at home with an SM57? Yes. Yes you can. It's good enough for recording close mic. No question.

I installed this into a Fender Frontman 15. The factory speaker doesn't produce lows very well, and when the drive channel is selected with gain it breaks up pretty bad from the factory. I installed the Celestion 8-15 in it's place, and holy cow what a difference. I haven't gotten to really see how it sounds at volume yet, but I had not changed anything on the amp or my guitar to begin with, and I had to turn everything down further due to kids being asleep. This speaker is louder than the factory, significantly richer tone, this is a great speaker for the price! Fits perfectly on the same 4 bolts, the factory speaker did. Even though the magnet is at least twice the size on the factory speaker, the amp has not gained any weight, I didn't put this speaker on a scale, but I didn't notice any serious weight difference between the 2. The poles are clearly labeled on the speaker making getting the wires where they need to go easy. This sounds amazing compared to the factory speaker, it's not even in the same ball park the difference this made in the amp, very happy customer.

I was expecting a slight improvement in sound however the speaker blew me away. I didn’t realize that a $45 speaker could make this much of a difference but right away I noticed deeper bass, punchy mids and crisp clear highs. This speaker is worth every penny. I use a peavey 6505plus most of the time but for fun I replaced the stock speaker in my Marshall mg15 for late night practice. I use the pre sets for classic and a metal zone pedal for my heavier stuff and this speaker sounded great for both. Very versatile. Easy to install. I would highly recommend this to anyone for a huge upgrade to any practice amp

Didn’t think a practice amp could sound this good, better clearer low end, very smooth high end and removed all the fender shrill from the high end that was ear piercing, overall everything sounds better and feels better. The magnet is pretty large as well. Very good build quality as well.
