This comprehensive DVD encompasses all aspects of beginning gymnastics for boys and men. Topics covered include: techniques and progressions for floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars and the horizontal bar. Coach Mark Williams provides all the basic information gymnastics coaches and instructors need to make their coaching experiences successful. This program was designed to help coaches develop basic skills in young gymnasts. The objective is to teach essential skills for every event and develop a sound foundation from which higher level skills can be learned. About the coach: Mark Williams has become a household name in the world of gymnastics. The Oklahoma Sooner head coach has had success at every level of the sport and was recently inducted as one of the members of the 2015 class into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame, just another testament to the outstanding coaching he has done with the national team and the OU men's gymnastics squad. Williams has established OU as the nation's elite program with nine national titles in the past 16 years, claiming crowns in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2015, 2016, 2017 and most recently in 2018. Mark Williams has also made an impact on the international level, most recently serving as the head coach for Team USA at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

My one and only DVD on gymnastics- cos it's all there is.
Got this to help my boys. Seems very good but a bit boring and the coach speaking has a flat whinny voice which my kids hate. I too find it grating BUT the guy knows his stuff and I will be employing this material to see where the boys need to improve and hopefully together we will improve their style and strength.There doesn't seem to be much out there like this so I'm grateful to have it and I will buy the next two levels up when/if my boys get there.

Good DVD
As it says, the book is for beginners; though, on many of the skills being taught, they assume that you have all the strength necessary, which might take a long time to build up. Also, you need a gym to do most of the skills being taught; though, I'm sure you might be able to find substitutions at home for some of the events. Anyways, great DVD - you'll learn a lot on how to start on these events.

Excellent!
As an adult, I found this DVD extremely helpful in mastering the basic skills. The tips are laid out in an easy to understand, sequential form that I apply to my training each and every class.The video is clear and concise and would be of great help to any gymnastics beginner.A strong 5 stars!
