While un-capped, during writing, the pen has a good balance and nice weight, though it may be slightly shorter than one might expect (compared to a typical inexpensive pen - which this certainly isn't). But the cap will fall off easily if you try to write while it is posted and the pen is obviously un-balanced writing that way. This isn't spelled out in the description, so I wanted people to know through my comment. There are screw threads for the cap when you put it away. This pen is nice - I like the materials it is made out of, I have good quality results and enjoy using it.

Er ist ein Weihnachtsgeschenk, daher hoffe ich, dass er dem Beschenkten auch gefällt.... Der Stift sieht sehr hochwertig aus und ist schön schwer. Wie er schreibt, kann ich noch nicht nicht sagen- ist ja ein Geschenk. Das Holz ist heller als auf dem Foto, rötlicher und heller- sieht aber trotzdem echt klasse aus. Der Stift ist kürzer als andere und schwerer. Mir gefällt das sehr gut. Preis von 80,- Euro ist gerechtfertigt. Kurzes Update: Der Beschenke war super begeistert. Ein top Schreibgerät, edel, schwer und sehr wertig!!!
