The clamp size connecting to helmet?

The gap is about 3/8" The set screws will clamp it pretty securely to anything less than 3/8"

Will this item hold a AA min maglite?

I think it is a little too big to fully clamp down on a MiniMag. I haven't tried though.

Will this hold a Nightstick 560XL rechargeable flashlight?

Yes, there are also several sizes of set screws for different diameter lights. I use it on my fire helmet so do a couple of the other guys. Works good with or without a face shield.
