A good base-line inspection camera for small areas.
Let's be honest, folks, this is a 20 dollar camera. Don't expect 4K quality from it. That being said, this is a great camera for simple inspections. Mine has already paid for itself in a hollow-body electric guitar that had a buzzing sound on certain notes. Using this camera, I found a wire that was just close enough to the inside of the body to vibrate against the body on certain notes and chords. Using the camera, I moved the wire further away from the body and around another wire to keep it from hitting the body. No dis-assembly required! Now, for those who are trying to use it as an actual endoscope, again, it's a 20 dollar camera. If I walked into a doctor's office and they pulled this out to examine me, I'd be out the door pretty fast. It's a low-end inspection camera, folks. A Doctor's or Dentist's Office should be able to afford a better, medical quality camera for internal work with humans or animals. At least they should, considering how much you pay. Why it's sold as an endoscope is beyond me. As another reviewer said, the "nExt Camera App" from the Google Play Store seems to work perfectly with this inspection camera. It loaded right up and has worked fine from day one. Just make sure you Android device is OTG capable. There is an app on Google play that will check you device to see if it is compatible, but I can't remember the name. Once the phone was checked, I deleted it. I've used this on guitars, computers, (what is buzzing in there?), power tools, locating a dropped tool inside a car door, and seeing how wires are routed on top of the car's headliner. It has hundreds of uses if you understand it just let's you see what you can't normally see and it's not a high quality camera. You are not going to shoot the next version of "The Fantastic Voyage" with it. But as a quick and dirty inspection camera, it works just fine.

Great value to get the job done
Will this win any photography contests? No way. Will this let you get the job done? Absolutely! Will this break the bank? Nope! The TTAKMLY USB Endoscope is great value for it's features. 1. Semi rigid core allows you to more easily maneuver the camera and works well. 2. LEDs provide plenty of illumination and the brightness adjustability is key to properly exposing the image (or just blasting light into a dark area). 3. Versatility of Windows 10 plug and play (no special apps needed and integrated seamlessly with the native Camera App by toggling between the built in camera and USB) or mobile phone (Worked on my Google Pixel 3A with AN98). The AN98 app offered much more control over the endoscope like being able to rotate or mirror the image. 4. Both a Micro USB and USB-C adapter was included. Micro USB adapter in image is not accurate. 5. Included additional accessories like a hook, magnet, and mirror. Room for improvement: the mirror implementation does not work. 1. The attachment doesn't allow the mirror to center, so you're looking partially past the mirror and into the mirror. This should be redesign to hold this more securely and keep this properly aligned in front of the camera. I would consider making this a full shroud around the mirror. 2. Angle is too steep so on the part that you can look into the mirror, it's not 90ยฐ sideways. It should be a 45ยฐ bend if we're trying to look sideways. 3. Camera struggles to focus properly due to alignment and angle issues above. Bottom line: It works! I bought this to fish a wire that had dropped between my walls by taping this to a mechanical pickup arm and retrieve the wire from the bottom of the wall (accessed through an electrical junction box). It saved me the hassle of cutting a hole in my finished drywall and then repairing it.

This will NOT work with every Android and all you money may not be refunded, even if it is broken
I got one of these and it did not work on a laptop or my phone. When I plugged it into a PC USB port, I could see video OK but any touch to the USB cable and the video would black out. I could never see it again even if I unplugged and plugged the USB cable back in - that happened on 2 laptops and 4 USB ports. It did not work on my Moto3G (Android 6) with any of about 10 apps. So it was broken. I returned it - the cost was $22.67 and the refund $17.83 which I did not notice. But it was BROKEN!!!! So I returned it and got a replacement. The second camera worked OK on every laptop on every USB port. Great picture - I was happy. But then I tried to get it to work on my Moto3G (Android6) using all of the recommended apps and a few more in the goggle play store. None of them saw the camera. And I verified that the app had access to everything it asked for (camera, storage, etc). Then I went back to the laptop thinking maybe I had broken it. Still worked great on a laptop. But I really needed this to work on a phone because it is just too cumbersome to drag a laptop around along with the camera where I had to go. So then I thought I would contact the manufacturer - maybe they had some experience with the Moto3G and would have a specific list of apps for me. I could not find an email address or phone number so I gave up and decided to return it. I noticed my $22.67 camera refund was $19.26. And when I checked the first order I realized I was not refunded all of my money for a broken camera. So it cost me $4.84 to return a broken phone and $3.41 to return a phone that was falsely advertised. So do not assume that Amazon refunds your money. I have found several instances where my 2 day prime delivery changes as soon as I order. So double check things. Update: I asked if anyone had gotten this working with a Moto3G Android 6.0 phone and received a number of responses saying others were unable to get this working with any of their Android phones - a total of 16 phones, many, many apps. So if you want to use this on a cell phone you should buy something else.

Basic Borescope/Endoscope - "Just Works" in Ubuntu Linux 22.04
I plugged it in, then opened VLC and used the menu option to open a capture device. This was super easy for me since my Ubuntu 22.04 media center has no other v4l2 devices attached. If you use it with a laptop, open VLC before plugging in the camera and find out what your internal camera /dev/video* device(s) are ahead of time. Opening the capture device immediately shows a 640x480 image of medium/low quality. It sends the image in MJPEG format, so don't go expecting amazing imagery. ffplay also works, as does Cheese. lsusb identified this as: Bus 001 Device 009: ID 13d3:784b IMC Networks XHC Camera Although they say you can get higher resolutions, I'm not seeing that listed in the v4l2-ctl output. Only 640x480 is listed, unless I'm missing something. But for less than $20 this gives you a camera that is good for close-up images of small items as the focus seems to be better if what you're looking at is within 2-4 inches of the camera. Further out, it starts to get fuzzier. I have not tried this in low light situations yet. My particular need is to see inside a wall, so I will be testing the lights in there. I am not expecting much as the LEDs are bright white, but I suspect they aren't bright enough to light more than a few inches away. Overall, I expect this is mainly designed to look at small things closely, The 16.4 ft. cable is nice and firm and easily bent into whatever shape you need. Not having used it much yet, I can't attest to its durability. I would guess that the conductor inside might break after being bent a few times too many. Since my need is short term, that isn't likely to matter. Hope this review helps some Linux based folks out there!

Died in a week, but company responded
I bought this to mount near the hot-end of a 3D printer. It worked well initially, able to focus closely enough to be useful for this. But after a few days the cable developed an intermittent short circuit. (At first I could wiggle the cable and get it to work, but now it doesn't at all.) Probably not made for the constant movement of the printer mount, but disappointing. Update: The company contacted me and offered me a refund, but I asked for a replacement instead and suggested they make a version with a more flexible cable aimed at 3D printers. I've amended my 2 stars to 4 based on the responsiveness of the company, and will go to 5 if they make one with a better cable for 3D printers. Update 2, 3/8: Well, it's been 3 weeks since they contacted me and I emended the review based on that, but I haven't heard a word from them since, so I'm going back to my original rating. The product didn't stand up to use, and the company didn't stand up for the product. I bought something else to replace it. I recommend others buy something else too. Update 3, 3/14: They did get back to me again, and asked forgiveness for the delay - they claim to be a very small family business and got overwhelmed, but they did issue a refund, so I'm going to change this back to the 5 stars I gave it before it died. It DOES have good image quality and macro-focus that works well for my 3D printer "tip-cam". If it dies again, I'll update it again, but I'm going to try to find a way to mount it to minimize the cable movement this time.

Useful in tight spaces
I attach five pictures to show capabilities. The first two are looking down a bathtub vent tube at a frozen slider assembly to determine whether it could be freed up easily. As you can see, this one is too far gone. Saved me from causing potential damage to the drain as the slider is frozen in the open direction and best left alone. Just use a plug if I need to use the tub as a tub. The third picture is of the insides of a new air fryer which had a very loose temperature adjusting knob. Other reviewers of the air fryer said it did not seem to affect function but I was afraid it was a badly assembled electrical component. I was able to snake into the unit and identify that the knob connected to a metal flap and not an electrical device and would therefore not affect function. I was able to do this without taking the unit apart and voiding my warranty. The last two pictures just show the quality of the picture with a familiar object. This unit has limited range of focus so it has to be used with that in mind - seems to be best at about 1 inch distance which is what is claimed. I can imagine that this unit could be invaluable when the item you need to look at is some distance down a pipe or under a floor or some such constricted space. The picture will be as good in those applications. This review is an update to one where I scored this as only three stars because I had difficulties obtaining a good picture as a result of phone software or connector problems, but this was resolved when I repeated the tests and this is now to my satisfaction. Not sure what the problem was, but it has resolved itself.

It did the job I bought it to do.
We moved into our house about six years ago. We have always had a problem with the upstairs main tub and shower not draining. We have had at least four plumbers work on the drain with little to no success. They have snaked the drain, put powerful chemicals down the drain, and one even used a camera. We were preparing ourselves to spend a lot of money to have the pipes replaced as one plumber suggested we had to do. I ordered this camera to get an idea where the pipes went under the floor to see how much work would need to be done. I saw that the pipe went about 2 feet then made a 90 degree turn. I decided to go into the pipe with this camera. I could see the globs of hair and tried to pull it out with the hook that came with it. The hook came off in the pipe. So I used the magnet that came with the camera and it came off in the pipe too. I had to use a mechanic's magnet to pull them out. After clearing out the globs of hair, I could see that something else was lodged against the elbow. I taped the camera to flexible mechanic pick with a claw and started grabbing at the object. After about an hour, i got it out. It was a 6 inch piece to metal. I have no idea how it got into the pipes. If I can figure out how to post pictures and a video, I will add them to this review. This camera saved me hundreds of dollars. Well worth the purchase.

Great endoscope and customer service for the $$
I have been impressed with the customer service. When I first received my unit the USB-C connection was flakey so it was difficult to use with my new S20 phone. Fortunately I still had an older Galaxy phone with micro-USB and it was fine. When I brought this to the attention of the seller they responded very quickly. Within a week I received a new unit that had an additional USB-C connector, which worked fine on my S20. The video quality is quite good. The cable is stiff enough to allow shaping to get around corners. I had to add a line to the side of the camera head casing with a Sharpie to indicate 'Up', otherwise it is easy to get disoriented. I feel that I got good value, and quick response when I encountered an issue.

Disappointing
The Seesi USB Endoscope seemed with good build but after trying it for the first time it didn't work. Plugged it in MacOS and Windows as described on their website, and used the apps mentioned with no success. The Endoscope lights are ON when plugged, but the camera seems not being detected by the MacOS/WIndows. The guidance between Amazon and their website and the instructions within the package are somewhat inconsistent and misleading. In the package instructions they say it works on iOS, but on their website and Amazon product description they say iOS is not supported. Also conflicting suggestion on which app to use on Andriod.

Works well
The video quality is pretty decent considering how inexpensive this was. Followed the instructions and downloaded OTG View for Android. Plugged the camera into my phone with the USB-C adapter and picture popped up right away. It lost a star because the attachments don't stay on well. The collar is too loose and made of hard plastic so it doesn't actually grip the camera housing. I had to use some painters tape to tape the collar and attachment to the camera to use it. Other than that, it's a great value compared to cameras that are usually 5x the price.
