After buying Mac I realised I will need this product to use extension.. it was really good. Usb was not working so I asked for replacement and the same happened without any trouble!

Apple's tradition of removing old ports is indeed a pain for most of the users as it makes using a lot of old USB type devices kind of redundant. Luckily this USB type C Hub helps to get rid of such problems. Good Things: * Build quality is really good * It is a direct plug and play (No fuss and works flawlessly on my MBP 2020 - Intel) * Have tested the USB port by connecting one of my old Android phones and it is detected by my MBP. * SD card from my Sony A7RIV got detected instantly so the card reader port works just fine. Concerns: * Since this hub is jutting out from the Macbook, it is recommended to be used only when your laptop is placed on a stable surface and not when mobile as it may potentially damage the ports if any uneven forces or shocks are applied. I wouldn't rate it as a flaw of the product but something one should bear in mind while using. * One thing i noticed when transferring files from an SD card onto the MBP that the transfer speeds are quite slow as in when compared to connecting it to the camera via USB Type C cable. I suppose it is an acceptable trade off. I will be testing the other ports soon and share a long term review soon. Otherwise would recommend it.

I've been using this device for more than 8 months now. Initially, it worked like a charm. The device looks quite elegant, the colour merges well with the Macbook and the build quality seemed to be fine. After 6 months, the issues started. It would lose the connection every now and then. It is unable to handle even a slight disturbance. Moreover, it doesn't tightly fit. From the first day, it has some space to move. Mostly, the ports fit well, the issue is with the case, maybe it has some free space due to which the motherboard sways. Overall, this has been a disappointing purchase.

I have been researching too much before buying this product, I was still in dilemma after making the order. But trust a stranger it is just perfect. Handy as hell small and fits properly into the mac (owner of mac pro M1). As much as other products are considered they are pricy and can be bit of a pickle to spend a fortune on these accessories. So it's best suggested to go for budget things if you're not ambani rich. Definately value for money no doubt. It's sturdy I can vouch for that since I have been using it for a fare share of time. Definitely the best dongle I have purchased. Before this I had a port which had a flexible wire and it used to connect to a single port in the Mac thinking I will have atleast one original port empty. But it was such a hassle using it because it used to dangle in the air and just feel bulky. Once you connect this to the side of the Mac, you can forget about it. The connection is strong and does not come off on its own, but in case you need to take it off, it slides of easily with the perfect amount of effort, neither too much that you have to jerk it for it to come off the mac, nor so smooth that it comes of even if you touch it by mistake. There is absolutely no latency in the charging or transfer speed using this dongle. There have been no issues for me till now and I have been constantly using this for about 3months. Its quite portable as well as its compact and light weighted. Point to be noted is that there are two USB C ports on the dongle but only the top one can be used for charging the Mac, the one on the bottom is only to charge other stuff that one plugs in e.g. phones, keyboards etc. The bottom port on the dongle cannot be used to charge the Mac.

The product is good to use however a problem while closing lid it touches the side of lid so better you detach the product before closing macbook lid. Pros - i used all ports togther for 1 hour no heating issue. Even hdmi transfer is amazing . File transfer is very fast as mentioned in details. Very Handy product It has Better solid type C port then orignal apple type c which loosen up everytime while charging. Strong material. I purchased for like Rs 3k , if you compare any other products you may end up getting it for more then 7k... Cons - it touches mac book lid while closing it. Finishing of product could have been better, little more slim though its a aluminum n feels quality product. Conclusion - i like the product. If you use macbook so at this price with good quality one must purchase it.

I'm writing this review after about a month of using this, and I constantly use this as I use dual monitors. For the note, I use this with my MBP 13" 2020 Intel Model. The USB Ports, SD Card Readers and stuff work like a charm, no issues experienced as of now. But recently, I bought a displayPort monitor and I was not able to connect to it with the second USB-C port(no HDMI Monitor). Only now did I notice that the second USB-C Port cant be used for Video Output, or Charging(this is written in the product description as well). Hence, I'm planning to buy another USB-C Hub now, which uses only one port. So if in the future, you plan to use both the USB-C Ports, for charging or video output, get a hub that takes up only one USB-C Port of your mac. Preferably the Apple one, but that's expensive. Another issue that I might've faced is the WiFi interference. I've noticed that at times, when I use this adapter with another external monitor connected via HDMI, my Internet speed get affected. I'm not sure if this is a known issue or if it's an issue with my WiFi, but still this might be an issue for you. So look out for it! The adapter does get heated at times, but that's not been a huge issue for me. It's helped me a lot and it looks great! So go for it after giving it a little thought about your use cases.

Great accessory for my new Macbook! With excellent build quality, I can confidently connect all my peripherals including SD cards and even an HDMI port for connecting to my TV. I can connect all ports and simultaneously charge my laptop. I have seen other low cost versions on Amazon and was not quite confident to use with such an expensive laptop. Most importantly, vendor support is great for that extra peace of mind. The design also makes sure that there are no dangling wires that may break and lightweight portability is a huge plus. Overall, i think its one of the best USB C hubs for the money - and the fact that it matches my Macbook's colour is also amazing!

Everything I could possibly need to use (apart from a CF card) is connected easily, with a speedy transfer rate and the ability to plug in a lot more, in a smaller size than if I were to carry around all the dongles required... Save your money buying multiple Apple dongles and just get one of these instead!! 😂

I was generally really pleased with this adapter, as I've seen a few that either have an ugly brand name plastered all over it or the shape just didn't quite seamlessly blend into the Macbook (Yes I have OCD). The Space Grey colour match on this adapter is fantastic! So close to the macbooks you'd be hard pressed to find fault. All the ports on the side are perfectly placed and the HDMI port on the back is another winner as this prevents it from jutting out at the side like other adapters, which would just get in the way or overlap your colleagues desk. So that's a bonus! I did however get annoyed at the fact the adapter doesn't sit flush in the USB C ports. It seems to only go just a little more than 3/4 in and that's it. I thought I hadn't just pushed it in enough but if I pushed any harder I would have broke the ports, so this was really annoying for me as this was the only thing stopping this adapter from being the perfect accessory for my macbook. I know for most this is just nitpicking, but as an OCD enthusiast this did niggle me to the point of returning it. Everything else however, the colour/port placement/design is absolutely spot on 👌🏼 So I would still highly recommend, just not to any OCD peeps out there that like me, couldn't ignore that slight gap.

It's annoying when you spend over £2000 on a macbook pro only to find it isn't compatible with anything. I needed to be able to use my SD card for extra storage but also my USB flash drives which I use to quickly transfer files. I know there are other ways like dropbox etc but why should I not be able to do it how I like having paid so much money? Apple have let us down badly here but that is where this device is a lifesaver. I got the space grey Macbook Pro and this item, although it says silver in the description, is space grey. It's not 100% perfect but is close enough. It's well made, light and has a cool blue LED to show when it's powered up. So far I have used my USB flash drives and SD card on it and it is flawless. I have no need to the HDMI output so haven't used and can't comment. For me, it's already paid for itself. A great product that I have no doubt would cost over £100 if it had the apple logo on it!

Was all set for a great presentation, the hdmi port did not work, utter disappointment

Ordered three other hubs before this one. All worked fine as hubs in general, but running a HDMI monitor off any of the others was patchy, at best. It took numerous attempts of plugging and unplugging to finally get a screen that wasnt pink or green or whatever. This one, no problem in that respect. It is a bit plasticy, was expecting the body to have a bit more metal on it, but apart from that it works a dream. Best one out of the bunch so far.
