VERY Easy Set-up and Operation
My only regret is not purchasing this 4 years ago when we moved into our newly-built home and had the irrigation system set up for the lawn and landscaping. We have the ESP-ME3 Rainbird model; it took me a minute to figure out where this device plugs in (had to open a second panel that I didn't know existed), but as soon as I located that and plugged in the device, set up was only a few minutes. It was super easy to pair it with my phone. Making adjustments to the start times, watering days and duration is SO easy --- quite a bit easier than faster than doing it manually on the Rainbird station itself. I love that I can control our irrigation system from anywhere in the world. Very happy with this purchase - extremely easy and convenient to use.

Perfect Addition
Excellent upgrade for a Rain Bird irrigation system. Installation was quick, the app is easy to use, and remote control works perfectly. I love being able to adjust watering schedules from anywhere and take advantage of weather-based watering adjustments. Highly recommended!

The easiest installation I ever made! Expensive, but is just works!
I hate that this device was so expensive. Obviously it is grossly overpriced, BUT it was the easiest installation I ever made and works like a charm. To install this in your COMPATIBLE RainBird controller. there is a slot where you just insert this tiny device. Previously you would have installed the iOS or Android compatible app on you cell phone, then when the device was installed the app could "look" for it. Once found all you need to do is to type in your own WiFi password to bring it up to speed. My RainBird was kind of a pain to program, but the RainBird app allowed you to fully program the timer. It even allows you to turn your sprinklers on from any place in the world if you have access to a WiFi system!

A bit expensive for my taste but possibly the way to go
I have a new home that had a RainBird irrigation controller installed. One of my neighbors had a different type and told me of the new smart features that allowed his irrigation controller to deliver just the right amount of water needed based on the current weather conditions. It was saving him many gallons of water each year and paid for itself in short order. I didn't want to replace my entire unit and saw that Rainbird offered a plug-in module that would give me some of the same data and functionality. So I purchased this module to add to my unit. I must say I do love the convenience. I can be anywhere I have an internet connection and control my house's irrigation remotely. I can be in the house or in the yard and manually run any zone I please for however long I like without having to be at the box mounted on the outside of my house. I can program changes directly from my phone. And, the remote unit now queries the local weather stations in order to adjust watering cycles based on local weather conditions. This is all very good. Our first water bill just came in since installing this module and it indicates that our water usage has dropped. What I don't know is how many gallons of water this unit has saved me. My neighbor's unit offers a much more detailed analysis and has more granular control than my does. However, for my needs, I am mostly satisfied with this add-on module. It was brain-dead easy to install and it paired up with my app on my phone seamlessly, so kudos for RainBird for that. I does give me regular updates that it is adjusting my watering cycles based on current regional weather conditions. For the price, I do wish that it included more data so that I could ascertain exactly how efficient this has made my irrigation system. But, so far so good. And if it saves me money by watering just what I need just when I need it, I will be more than happy with my purchase. Once I have more data I will try to update this review to give you more information.

Game Changer for Your RainBird Sprinkler System
Great addition to our RainBird sprinkler system. East to install on the controller. Downloading the app and WiFi setup took less than 5 minutes. With the app, you never have to touch the controller again. You can do everything from your easy chair or even away from home. Highly recommended!!

Worthwhile splurge
Not an absolute necessity in my case, but it has been very handy to have remote access to the sprinkler controls. Not only can I adjust settings while traveling, itโs also been great to kick off a zone to troubleshoot an issue from where Iโm standing. Only minor complaint is that itโs sometimes a little slower to connect than I would expect.

Easily to install and worth the money!
This little gadget made all the difference for us! We didnโt realize all we needed was this attachment to be able to manage our watering system via our phones. A little research brought us to this little tidbit and viola- we are masters of our Rain Bird remotely.

If you want remote management, it will do that. Could be better. Not Apple Home compatible.
Installed in a recently purchased TM2-6. It replaces a decades old but still reliable Rain Bird ESP-6S1. I only replaced it because I wanted remote management. Replacing it was straightforward. Per other reviewer suggestions, I took a picture of the wiring in the old controller so I had something to refer back to. It's not natively compatible with Apple Home. I knew this going in but annoyed that Rain Bird doesn't offer this. Also annoyed that this isn't a typical USB wifi dongle with a USB A or USB C connector. It uses what appears to be a proprietary connector. There may be technical reasons for this but I don't know what they are and because it's a proprietary device, there's no competition or pricing pressure which may explain the $100+ price. You can buy reliable WiFi dongles all day long for a fraction of this. The TM2-6 was only ~$7.00 more than the dongle. Note that you can connect this to Apple Home but doing will so require a software and/or hardware solution. Additional cost and time spent, needless complexity. Set up uses BLE Quick Pair. Not difficult but compared to adding an Apple Home device into your network, not as streamlined. Once connected to WiFi and set up, response time has been slooow. For example, when using "Quick Run" to cycle through stations, tap and wait, wait, and wait some more. This in spite of having a full three bars of WiFi showing in my phone and at the controller's location. This may be due to a setting I haven't tweaked so until I nail this down, I'll give the Rain Bird app the benefit of the doubt. Compared to the almost instantaneous response time for devices I have in the Apple Home ecosystem, disappointing. After reading through some of lower ratings for this, connectivity seems to be common thread. Before buying this, use your phone to check WiFi signal strength at the controller's location. If good and it still won't connect, log into your router and check to see if 2.4 GHz is toggled on. This dongle is 2.4 only. Most routers these days are at least dual band 2.4/5.0 so for most, I'd guess not a major issue. Although Apple's app store for Mac states that the app hasn't been verified for a Mac, it worked with an M1 MBA. Apparently not compatible with older Intel Macs. The only Apple verified apps are for iPhone and iPad. There doesn't seem to be an app for Windows but Android is supported. Up and running for only two days as of this writing so I can't speak to long term reliability. I'll update if any issues crop up.
