Mole can smell that spring is in the air, but Bear is still asleep after his long winter nap! Excitedly he taps on the window and knocks on the door-- he even tries playing a trumpet to wake his friend so they can celebrate together. But Bear keeps snoozing. But Mole is determined, so he milks and gathers and bakes a special springtime surprise for his friend-- the perfect way to wake up! A perfect read-aloud, full of simple sound-words and lots of repetition, Spring is Here is ideal to share with young readers to celebrate the changing of the seasons. Cozy mixed-media illustrations of big, fuzzy, dozing bear and his eager mole friend add detail and humor to the tale. Don't miss the other Bear and Mole adventures-- First Star, All For a Dime, Off We Go! , and Kite Day . Review: Great fun spring story! - Such a cute story! My students loved it. The ending is too funny! Review: Cute story with a twist at the end! - My preschool class of 4 & 5 year olds LOVED this story! I’ll be ordering more Bear and Mole stories for sure. Mole discovers it is spring and rushes to wake his hibernating friend, bear. But bear won’t get up. So mole rushes around to milk the cow, churn the butter, etc. and shows up next to Bear’s bed with a plate of pancakes for his friend. Bear wakes up when he smells the pancakes, but Mole falls fast asleep from the exhaustion of waking his friend. It’s hilarious! There’s lots of sound words in this book which makes for a fun second read with the kids helping. I saw a lot of reviews about not holding their child’s attention. I disagree. This story held the attention of all 10 of my preschoolers on a rainy afternoon right after they’d had ice cream with their lunch!! It’s all in how the reader presents the story.

Perfect
I call my husband Bear, he calls me Mole. When I spotted this, I knew I had to have it. It got a great giggle out of us, and went right into our future babies box. We still randomly go "Doot Doot Doot" at one another (makes sense if you read the book) and we have read it more than once. Well drawn, written perfectly for a child to grasp, and short enough for children to keep their attention, but long enough that they can fall asleep to it (or at least get almost there) I love this book. I am looking forward to buying the rest of the Bear and Mole Stories.

This is a lovely book with great illustrations and cute writing
This is a lovely book with great illustrations and cute writing. It is simple enough for my son to understand and the mole's actions are easy to pantomime while reading before putting my son to bed.

BUON LIBRO ILLUSTRATO
Consegna perfetta ! Riuscirà a svegliarlo solo dopo avergli preparato . . . Buon testo per una lettura animata con i bambini .
