Best wire nuts out there!

It is really hard to find something to compare these to. After having used these, you'll never want to use the cheap knockoffs again. Have used this with wires from 22-12 AWG with zero issues. The inside of these is where the quality is. The solid coil of metal really does an amazing job at biting into the wires to provide a solid connection that will last. Try giving it a nice pull once it's bottomed out and you'll noticed that hold stronger than Hodor can hold a door! The red part on these feels like some sort of rubber which is nice when trying to shove wires into it. They are very easy to hold on to even when you're wearing thick gloves. They come in a nice resealable bag which is nice if you only use a few here and there. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again, and look forward to the many projects that will have strong and safe connections.

These seem to install easier and take up much less space than Ideals premium wire nut.

I used these to pigtail three wires together to a fourth pigtail wire, all 14 AWG, and it worked great. You get a lot in the bag so if you haven't done this before, try some test pigtails to get the technique down. I can confirm these wire nuts have the internal wire spring with a square cross section so it really bits into the wire when you twist.

This is simply the best kind of wirenut. It has a huge range of wire sizes and quantities it will grip. It goes on easily, holds on well, and doesn't waste a lot of space with stupid giant wings.

Best wire nuts I’ve used

There's simply no comparison with the Chinese wire nuts offered on Amazon for ridiculously cheap prices. The 3M is far, far superior and given what you're asking it to do, you really should spend the extra money for the designed-in-Minnesota version. For starters, the actual thing itself is more versatile. This covers the size range of both the reds and the tans. But even within the item, it's hugely better. The red skirt at the bottom is flexible and the tan is more rigid, making it "comfortable-r" (at least as comfortable as hand twisting a large # of these can be). Inside is the real kicker. The spring which "bites" into the bare wires and ties them together is actual, strong, angled steel. Meaning it kind of cuts and bites into the copper and has a very good tension. If you cut this open vs. a cheap Chinese wire nut you will see the Chinese one has a crappy, round-wire shiny spring which can be pulled apart by your fingers and has no angle to bite into the copper. In fact the Chinese springs often fall out because they're so loose -- meaning you might accidentally put on a nut with no spring and have a bad connection. Not with the 3Ms. I threw away all the Chinese ones and went 100% with these Tan/Red 3Ms except for a bag of Orange/Blue for the rare 14G or smaller connections.

These are premium quality wire connectors that provides a superior and solids connection. Please note that the color of the product denotes the size of wires (ie gauge) that it can accommodate. This red/yellow one is about mid size, and the blue one is the largest.

Didn’t think I’d love a wire nut. You can really feel it sinch down. Love them.
