Underhill Sprinkler Valve Round Box Lid, VersaLid 6 Inch to 7 Inch Universal Cover for Automatic Irrigation System, Green, VL-6

This is the second time I had to replace our 6-in sprinkler valve cover. The first time I had to replace it was when it broke while mowing the lawn several years ago. But, back then, I had no problem finding a replacement! Then, last week, as I removed the sprinkler valve cover in order to mow the lawn, it slipped out of my hand and rolled down the long steep wooded slope to our neighbor's yard far below! All I could do was to just stand there and watch this thing take off on it's rim, rolling down slope like a wheel until it got lost in the underbrush towards the bottom. I thought it wouldn't be a problem to replace this one since I had no issues replacing it the first time! But sadly, after searching several different hardware stores, I wasn't able to find any that fit! There wasn't a size that was compatible because they were all too big by about 0.125 inch to a quarter of an inch. I picked up a couple, but neither fit, so I had to return them. I decided to search on Amazon, and was able to find a "universal" sprinkler valve cover that fit a 6 to 7-inch opening, and found this one by Underhill! I just received my order today and tried it out immediately. It fits like a charm! It also looks close to what I used to have before! The cover also looks to be made of the same durable material, and it looks similar to what I had before! (I may have to invest into a 2nd one, just to have as a spare, because, who knows?!) I highly recommend this sprinkler valve cover! It had the highest review at the time of my search, and I'm really happy to have found a good replacement!

These arrived quickly & fit my sprinkler valve box beautifully. They are made of sturdy plastic. The finger holes go all the way through so debris can get into box. I covered holes with electrical tape to keep dirt our & still be able to remove easily.

We have a sprinkler system, and while walking through the yard, I noticed the sprinkler box cover was missing. As I kept looking around, I found chunks of it scattered here and there. I immediately got on Amazon, knowing they’d likely have replacement covers that wouldn’t break the bank — and they did. I measured the opening right away and found a cover that looked similar to the one we had, so I ordered it. When it arrived, I noticed it had features our old cover didn’t, and I was worried it might not fit. Thankfully, it worked perfectly. It slid right into place and honestly looks like it may be an even better cover than the one we had before.

I bought a 6" round NDS valve box 20 years ago. The lid cracked this weekend and I thought it would be simple to replace it. Nope. The inner dimension of the OLD box is 5-7/16" diam. The NEW box/lid inner dimension is 5-9/16". Thus, the official replacement lid is too big to fit inside. See photos. So instead I tried this universal fit lid and it works great! You just have to squeeze bottom "tabs" a bit to get the lid on but it then fits snug. Quality seems pretty good, too. The only con is the price. I paid $15 and could have bought a replacement 6" box plus lid for $8. But then I'd have to dig up the old box. Even a replacement lid was just $6 but I had the size issue described above. To me, $7 would be a fair price for this item.

I tried 2 other covers sold on amazon. They never fit. This one fit perfectly even though it was a bit more $. Should have bought this one in first place. Expense and Hassle with getting others that didn't fit.
