No. 9 Gun Bore Cleaner

I used this by cleaner by hand applying with brushes and swabs as my procedure for a few months. It was good, and I was satisfied. When I do a heavier cleaning, I generally ultrasound my pistol and small rifle parts, and use a 1/2 oz. of simple green to 24 oz of water. It generally does a decent job. I was doing my usual one day and for some reason decided to splash a little Hoppes #9 in the already operating tank with the Simple Green, and all of a sudden that bath came alive! Soon, the top of the water became foamy with dirty coagulated oil beads, lots of it. I left it run a minute or so and pulled the basket up, I was astonished. The metal was shining bright like I never saw with just the simple green solution. I’ve done it this way since, and it’s been phenomenal. Any minor residue left wipes away. I always rinse thoroughly, dry thoroughly and oil everything generously. My guns have never been so clean. I’ve seen no resultant issues whatsoever with composite or metal parts degradation. Try this if you can. It works!

What can I say, It's Hoppes #9. Some people hate the smell, I for one like it. As for the cleaning, its pretty hard to beat. I have tried many others and keep coming back to the good old Hoppes #9. Arrived sealed, no leakage...yay. Recommended.

my first time purchasing hoppe's 9, i like the product the only thing is i live in an apartment so the chemicals left a nasty taste in the back of my throat, and it left a smell in your nasal passage if you can please use this product outside. it left my guns clean, and bone dry I'm used to using a CLP but since I've used hoppe's 9 it's definitely better to strip the gun oil from your firearm and apply a fresh layer of gun oil. You can use CLP, but your guns will never be fully clean without a gun solvent. CLPs are best suited for you when you want to do a quick clean wipe down or what we call a mickey mouse job in our home, no doubt a CLP will get the job done but there's nothing like getting your gun back down to bare metal.

I weirdly like the smell of this stuff. It gets all grease & gunk off of components & makes cleaning so much easier & quicker. I suggest getting little cloth pads & Q-Tips that you can soak in this stuff & then wipe down what you need to clean. Please remember that you’ll need to regrease/lube whatever you cleaned off because this will absolutely take all of it off.

This cleaner is great. It seriously gets off carbon. My dad has a Glock 48 that had some carbon stains from years of use. Especially on the end of his grey slide and this stuff reversed the aging of his gun. Every time we go out and shoot and I clean it for him the gun looks newer than before. Totally removed the carbon from the slide. I have a Glock 20 and not only does the outside of the gun look like new still but so does the inside. The smell is pretty strong, but goes away quickly after the gun sits a bit. At that point you can only smell it if your nose is right up to the gun. It sucks when you get it on your hands. I usually clean on a towel and I’ve designated a towel for gun cleaning now because the first towel I used the smell didn’t come out in the wash so yeah. Cleans great though

Being an avid target shooter. I've used this stuff for years. I do use gloves while using this. It is strong and it should be. If you shoot Lead Cast Reloads. And loads of Copper Jacketed Bullets. I just swab. And let it just sit. If I've shot a great deal that day. I'll leave it sit for 3-4 hours. Or simply come back the next day. Clean patch it out. Wet it again. Clean patch. Wet then bore brush etc.. Does the trick for me for 50 years.
