Once the container is loaded, it works fine. The problem resides with the time wasted in loading it.The diameter of the holder inside the glass is about 30% smaller - creating a significant gap. When loading straws, you have to carefully put them in the holder else they will fall between the holder and the interior glass wall. It's far easier just to leave the straws in the bag they came in... unless you want to waste time loading a few at a time.

Most straws I can find do not fit in it. I wish it was a little taller. I am forced to use without straw catcher or lid.

The lid does not fit well. I kept it just because I did not want to bother with returning it.
