Battery Compatible with Microsoft Zune 30GB / 1090/1091 / JS8-00001 / JS8-00002 / JS8-00003 MP3 Player + Tool & Instal Manual

I bought this batter because the battery in my Zune would no longer hold a charge longer a few hours. It came with tools but the instructions were a little vague. Once I was able to separate the players casing halves, the battery installation was a breeze. The included tools were a little flimsy so I resorted to a flat head precision screwdriver for the most part of the separation of the casing. This new battery works like a charm and holds a charge so much better than the last one.

This review is in regards to installation in a Zune 30 device. I got this to replace the original battery as it would no longer hold a charge at all. The new battery works fine, and after I got it connected the Zune powered up and functioned normally. However, it was a bit difficult to install because as other reviews have mentioned, the connecting wire is just a hair too short. I did get it connected successfully but wasn't able to push in the connector as far as I would have liked. I secured it with a piece of tape as well. When connected and the battery is seated in its slot, there still seems to be a little tension on the wire, which was not the case with the original battery. Time will tell if it holds up. As for the actual battery, I can't speak to the quality or how long it will last since I just got it, but just wanted to provide some comments on the installation and fit. The kit came with two case opener tools, of which I only needed to use one. it also came with a screen protector which I won't be using, but that's a little bonus if you want it. Note you will need a very small Phillips screwdriver. I had a PH0 which was not small enough. I was luckily able to get both screws out with a tiny flat head screwdriver I had but I wouldn't recommend it. Overall, this is a very easy install if you have the right tools, but with this particular battery, it's a tight fit.

Not exactly the same as the original battery but it fits and works. Bought this to fix my zune from non-stop rebooting issue. What a wired way to indicate the battery has gone bad. LoL

Worthless. I bought two of these and got the same result twice. For one thing, the cable from the battery to the plug-in site inside the Zune is not long enough, both times. Both times I was able to peel back the tape and extend the cable to plug it in, only to find that they don't work. No power. Also, when I went to throw it away I decided to dissect it a bit and all I can say is, these are made in Joe's garage in China, it's pretty obvious. I'd avoid this product.

This battery broke the connection cable during installation, fault was my own hands old and unsteady. A more durable material would have been preferable.

I bought this to fix my BFs Zune as a gift. I wasn't sure if it would work. But it did. The moment I connected the battery the Zune came to life. So if u have a Zune 1st Gen this battery works great. It fits perfectly and the price is good.

The battery installation kit I recieved had the battery, which was the crucial component and tools for opening the Zune. The battery was fine and the prying tools were okay, but the screwdriver that came with the kit had a Phillips head that was many times bigger than the small Phillip head screws used in my Zune. It was useless. Fortunately I have a set of jewelers screwdrivers otherwise I would not have been able to install the battery. Bottom line, I paid extra for the "installation" kit (with tools) as opposed to just a replacement battery. The battery with the installation tools (the kit) turned out to be a bad investment.
