Not a paid review, just a honest experience!
I don't like it when people give 1 star because of logistical problems (like shipping issues), so I'm going in with a review on the ACTUAL PRODUCT. I don't write reviews, but this belt is really good... also I'm been wearing it for four months and it's not fair when people give a review with first use. I wasn't paid nor given any product for this review. This is straight-up my honest experience. I am a BMX trick rider (by recreation, but I ride a lot) and I wanted a belt that was sturdy, held well, and didn't have a buckle that pinches or cuts. What interested me in this belt was the price, the buckle system, the material and the buckle itself - it has not disappointed me! Riding my bike, it holds perfectly. After a week or so of breaking in, the "bulkiness" - that some have complained about - that the belt material makes on the buckle is gone and it lays flat when fastened. The belt is super light. I wear it casually, and it holds perfect. I don't tuck in my shirt when I'm casual, but if you do, it looks just fine. I don't like the "tactical" look, but if that's your jam - it's subtle. I was skeptical of the plastic buckle, but it is great. It solves the issues of pinching or cutting a metal buckle may have, and it is much lighter. It holds very well; I have not experienced any slipping. The buckle material is that of typical buckles and fasteners you may find on a backpack or luggage (delrin?). We travelled to London and Paris for two weeks and didn't remove my belt through the metal detector - didn't have to - it's plastic! So this is an added benefit for any travelers. I'd have to say that this is my favorite belt, ever. For anybody who does any kind of physical activity in jeans - this is the one to get - but for the casual wearers, enjoy a lightweight belt that holds well. Also, I can see the practicality of survivalist stuff moreso with this belt than any other buckle system. Having gone on long distance bike/camping cycling adventures I could see applying this belt to other uses. The 511 name lives up to the reputation of quality products.

Lightweight, easy to put through belt loops, and durable
Someone recommend I try this 5.11 Tactical belt, and I am grateful for the recommendation. I needed a lightweight belt that was adjustable in small increments which would hold my pants up when I have a tape measure, phone, knife, and all sorts of other things on my belt and in my pockets. The notch makes it super easy to align with the first loop, just unroll the belt, put the notch in the downward position, and the belt buckle will be in the proper position. You will want to order a size larger than you think you need. The measurements are spot on, so if you size up, you will have a bit of a tail to grab on to or slack for micro adjustments, or space to carry a holster, etc between that and your body. These are machine washable! The quality plastic buckle protects your other clothes, washer, and dryer. I want a second one of these so I can leave them in the belt loop of a second pair of shorts or pants!

No downsides after four (EDIT: thirteen!) years
I've worn this belt every day for four years. Previously I've used leather belts with punched holes, canvas belts with two-ring buckles, and belts with the metal buckle that tightens with a sliding bar. Not only is this the best belt I've owned and the best style of buckle I've ever used, but both components work as perfectly as the day I got the belt and neither shows any signs aging or wearing down (other than some very light fraying which I expect won't be an actual problem for another five years or so). I loosen my belt when I sit down and tighten it when I stand up, and it's very easy to do with this belt. I do not need to entirely undo the buckle to take my pants off; I can just loosen it most of the way (my waist size is 35/34;). I've worn it on jeans, cargo pants, and shorts. It weighs nothing. I cannot think of anything wrong with it. I expect to continue using this belt or identical replacements of it for decades. EDIT: Two years later (total of six years of everyday use), every word in this review is still true. The light fraying I mentioned shows no signs of becoming a problem soon like I suspected. Still the best belt I've ever owned, would buy it again in a heartbeat if this one were stolen or lost. EDIT: In 2020 it's one year later with no changes -- still use it every day, still haven't considered changing or replacing it for the seven years I've worn it. I have even put on about 20 lbs! By the way, I got married! See you in a year or two. EDIT: It's 2022, I lost those 20 lbs! All is still well, no change in the belt's condition. My spouse makes fun of me for how much I like this belt. This review is the closest thing to a long term blog I've had. I learned since my last update I'm autistic. I have gotten into photography and interior design during the pandemic. See you soon! EDIT: It’s 2025, still wearing it every day, and the fraying is still not an issue. I’ve attached a second photo to show the fraying—despite how it looks, the belt still smoothly inserts into the buckle. I have worn this belt every day for thirteen years. I was in school when I bought it. I’m now 34 and I’d say it’s a coin flip whether it will outlast me. We’re thinking about having a kid. Maybe one day it will become theirs. See you in a bit.

Prefect fit and comfortable, Run's a little small
The 5.11 Tactical Men’s 1.5-Inch Convertible TDU Belt is a versatile and durable accessory that is perfect for outdoor activities, law enforcement, and military use. The belt is made of nylon webbing that is fade-and fray-resistant, ensuring that it will last a long time. The belt is also easy to use and can be converted into a tie-down, carry strap, or emergency harness. The belt is reasonably priced and offers great value for money. It does run a little small so you might want to order the next size up. Don't be fooled by similarly looking belts at 1/3 the price, there is no comparison. In conclusion, the 5.11 Tactical Men’s 1.5-Inch Convertible TDU Belt is a high-quality, reasonably priced, easy-to-use accessory that will last a long time. It has received great reviews from customers and is highly recommended for anyone looking for a versatile and durable belt.

5.11 Tactical Belts (Good but Pricey)
5.11 tactical belts have long been the standard for most tactical and response situations. However, their prices are in some cases almost twice as expensive as other similar brands. I still stand by 5.11 but am not content to wait if they are temporarily out of stock or on back order. Many other brands are just as good and certainly less expensive.

Perfect for EDC items and Airport Security
Absolutely love this belt. I've been using the 5.11 Tactical belt for 2 years now and it looks brand new to this day. I've also purchased one for my son who is an EMT and my other son who is joining the Air Force. I've used this belt almost daily for 2 years and never go without my concealed carry pistol, knife, and flashlight. All of this and it doesn't have a mark on it. Also, this belt doesn't contain metal so going through airport security is worry free. Can't recommend this enough.
