RCBSNECK DIE Set .223 REM

RCBS never disappoints.

I've been reloading for just under a year and bought this die set because I read in numerous forums how a small-base die is preferable in the AR platform. Truth is, I had also bought the Hornady full-length resizing die (when I first started) and as it turns out, that works just fine for my AR. Given that a FL die works the brass less, I've been using the Hornady die more. However, that's not to take away from this die set. It is well constructed and has a quality feeling and construction that we've come to expect from RCBS. I'm please with it even if I don't use it as much as I expected. If you need a small-base die set, this can't be beat.

Excellent dies. Easy to set up, remain consistent. Replacement parts are readily available. Use case lube with any brand dies! It’s worth noting that I’m using these on another brand press and they work equally well. I have two sets for different bullets so readjustment isn’t necessary. Can’t beat the quality. Shipping was super fast.

Update, 8-22-17: Despite my initial complaints about the decapping pin, this is a really useful die to have when reloading 223/556 for use in an auto loader. Every piece of brass gets re-sized to the appropriate SAMMI MIIN size to help with auto loaders. So, other than the "defective" decapper, I'm glad I got this die set. _____ Had it less than a day, and the decapper threads got stripped.. Was able to use it to make less than 30 rounds before the decapper unit failed. It looks like the threads were stripped or poorly cut to begin with, as the part the holds the decapper pin in place became separated from the threaded rod, and stayed inside the resized case. I examined the threaded rod and noticed that the threads for the decapper "button" were somewhat stripped, and when I attempted to re thread it, it would not, Had to cut the neck off of the case to get to the decapper "button" out It' s usable for resizing, but I like having the inside of my case necks reshaped as well. Will contact Amazon/seller and see about a replacement, otherwise, I'll have to pay about $10 for a new one, and now the great price for this set goes away.

These size my 223 brass better then the full base dies I have.. out of 500 rounds of range brass I did have a dozen or so that didn't pass the case gauge check.. these dies are good quality and the lock rings work fine..

I highly prefer Hornady Grade dies due to their excellent lock ring design and bullet seating sleeve for most general work. I also have Redding, Lee and RCBS dies for singular specific purposes. However, my two sets of 223 Hornady #546228 only size the neck I.D. to bullet diameter of ~ 0.224" which I feel is lacking enough neck tension for anything other than a target grade, bolt gun. The RCBS #11107 size die provides ~ 0.221" of neck I.D. which is reassuring. I also taper crimp. I now size the cases on a RCBS Summit press using this RCBS size die and perform the other loading operations on a Hornady AP press or the Summit press.

I got this after I bought the same for my 308. same great quality and great results. must have if you want to reload the range brass that was fired from large chamber guns.

I will NEVER buy another brand of dies again. These are SUPERB

Great product. RCBS is still hard to beat and the price of the die set was very reasonable.
