Permanent Outdoor Tetherball Set with Accessories

Park &Sun Sports Tetherball set is awesome. We’ve been having some great matches with it…. The “we” being adults and big strong teenagers, as well as 8 yr. olds. You know how the teens play hard…. Well this stands up to good hard smacks punches and serves. The pole never comes apart. It does tip a bit but not significantly. I used a concrete block and a bag of Quick Set concrete to secure the plastic sleeve. I used a wooden frame on top of the block to get the concrete support all the way up to the top of the plastic sleeve. (Be sure to tape both ends of the sleeve so you don’t get concrete in it.) I’m going to dig a hole for it when we figure out where we want to keep it. But even so, it’ll be portable. I think the Quick Set bag was either 40# or 50. If you don’t overinflated the ball, it’s easier on your hands, overinflated is too hard and hurts when you smack it. Oh, the attachment of the rope is great… it’s holding up. We’ve been playing practically everyday for a few weeks. Thanks Park&Sun Sports for a great product.

I decided to write a review to help others with installation. After 3 tries we finally got it right. First, follow the directions for the width of the hole. I think it was around 12inches. Make sure your pipe is under ground level so the mower doesn't hit it. On the 3rd try we used a PVC pipe from Lowes that was thicker so the pole wiggled less during play. Also, there buy a pvc cap that will fit the end of the pole - the end you bury in the ground. The 1st attempt we tried electrical tape as the instructions suggested and that was an epic fail. The concrete pushes right through the tape. That is what caused us to pull out the concrete and do it the 2nd time. On the second try we thought we had it, used a small level to make sure the pipe was level. In a few hours we were able to play the game. Unfortunately, the pole was leaning. Apparently, we did not take a level measurement from multiple directions on the top of the pipe. It was perfectly level one way, but not another way. Thus, try #3. Also, we use fast setting concrete, which was very easy. Just follow directions on the bag, but you have to have your pole in position before putting in the concrete. You cannot push the pole in after pouring it. Just put tape over the top of the cap so concrete doesn't get in while pouring the mix and water. Kids love it - good fun for he family at a reasonable price.

I've held off on buying a tetherball because I figured it'd be a pain to install. This was easy! We got the 2 part pole, and it's thick and sturdy. We didn't follow the instructions exactly, but our installation was a breeze! My husband dug the hole with a shovel, I put 2 pieces of duct tape on the bottom of the black sleeve and held the sleeve in place while hubby poured FAST SETTING CONCRETE around it. Instead of putting something on top of the sleeve to weigh it down as instructed, we put the pole in and used a level and adjusted it until it was perfectly straight. (You have to level from two sides). Since we used fast setting concrete, it was starting to set within 10 minutes, so once it was level, we removed the pole and let it set. It takes only 2 hours for the fast-setting concrete, so we were playing that evening! The pole still has some movement in the sleeve, but that doesn't interfere with play, and I suspect we can put a shim between the pole and the sleeve if it bugs us. Fast, easy, and fun!

The product is as advertised and was easy to install with a post hole digger, tube, quickcrete, level and staked tie downs to keep it true while we filled the hole. But expedited shipping was an epic fail and a waste of money. Seller uses USPS. Our pkg sat in NJ for a full week before it finally moved and was delivered 7 days late.

This tetherball kit was very easy to set up, very sturdy, and super duper fun for the whole family. We have already gotten many hours of play from this and I see it being used for many years to come. Highly recommend for any family or group or friends that enjoy playing games outdoors.

We all LOVE this set. I have 3 Grandsons age 11 into teens. They all love it. My friends and I have played it. Fun game, easy installation followed directions, also read reviews on what to do and not do all helped set up. It was much easier than I expected. Excellent for single to multi players.

We bought this product over a year ago. it's performance was adequate. It was placed in a dry location, in a very moderate climate, (San Diego). after a bit over a year, despite being galvanized steel, it rusted through and is now worthless. the warranty isa pathetic 30 days. Do not buy this product if you want to keep it in ground and last more than a year. Over the course of the 16 months, the price has jumped by 30%.

Install was easy (2 bags of sakrete concrete) and it is great fun for the whole family. The ball and covering appears high quality, and good fun. Like others have mentioned there is play in the three sections of pole which means a deflection of 4-6cms at the top of the pole when playing, but it does not affect game play at all.

We received this quite quickly and were able to mount the steel poles into a standard Patio Umbrella holder instead of digging a hole for the pole. Works well. The kids have a ball with it. Certainly a great buy. Pretty solid construction and a good ball came with it.
