Great product--be WARY ordering this from Amazon Warehouse Deals (sorry)
There is no better drop-away rest--period. I love it! Subjectively (as it would be very hard to "prove"), my groups seem tighter than when I used a rest that required the fletching to run through it upon release. It responds immediately and without fail on the bow I've had it on (over 330 fps) and never interferes with an arrow. I've never had it drop except when I've fired an arrow. It is utterly reliable. Its construction seems very solid. Some drop-away rests seem like two thin metal prongs that could be easily warped. This unit exudes quality. I ordered a second one. SEPARATE ISSUE: Amazon's Warehouse Deals had a "like new" for half the price. Why not, right? I've used them for dozens of products and found that their rating of condition is fair to the customer; sometimes even generous! But not on this QAD rest. I ordered the right hand version, black, THREE TIMES and each time received a left hand version, twice camo even. I returned the first after ordering the second so I obviously didn't get the first one back. The manufacturer's box correctly labels the left handed rest. An Amazon sticker on the bottom of the box calls it "right" anyway. I enclosed a note with my first two returns, hoping they'll be properly labeled and sold. When the third one came, correctly marked as "left" by the manufacturer and re-labeled "right" by Amazon, I was so frustrated... Where's an Amazon manager? Three times!? Because of the nature of the item you can't even do an immediate return. An Amazon rep has to give your permission (I used the email option and waited for a return email which came within 24 hours). I have never seen this before from Amazon and regret having to give this warning (and I usually hate it when the shipper gets reviewed INSTEAD of the product) but three straight frustrating errors compel me to warn others. Warehouse Deals can't seem to get this right! There's no way to get assurance that they are fixing this and you might get to wait for the wrong product, return it, re-order, and continue the cycle like I have. I am not impugning Amazon's "full-priced" offering or other vendors selling this great product. I didn't use them in these three attempts--only Warehouse Deals. Caveat emptor; c'mon, Amazon--someone in Warehouse management please fix this! To their credit, QAD has agreed to issue me an RMA and is sending me the right product. GREAT PRODUCT, GREAT MANUFACTURER--a mess from Amazon Warehouse Deals. (UPDATE: the RMA was filled within a week and came in a brand new retail box. The people and the product continue to prove to be outstanding at QAD!) UPDATE 11/20/2012 As bow technology improves (and as the budget allows...), I update every couple of years. I bought another of these excellent rests for a new bow. Amazon Warehouse had it an amazing price--again. But given my past experience, I was VERY reluctant to order it, but finally did. I am glad to report that I received the right product. It appeared to only have package damage that was taped over. The discount was very aggressive for this minor fault. As I "zinged" Warehouse Deals for poor performance in the review above, I congratulate them for a great product, quickly delivered, and accurately matching the description. This is what I have come to expect from Amazon and why I buy from them.

The only rest that you should ever buy
Beginner or expert. This is the rest that you want, don’t skimp and buy the ultra rest, just spend the extra $40 and buy this one. I Have been using it for years and it is the best design. Haven’t had a single issue. I’m sighted to 110 yards and any variation in my shot is me, not the rest. I can count on this rest 100% and in the field that’s all that matters to me. Durability and reliability over everything. I will only buy the HDX for all of my bows from now on. This rest is foolproof. Durable, accurate, easy to adjust. The best bang for your buck. Period.

Best arrow rest on the market (in my honest opinion)
Best arrow rest on the market (in my honest opinion). I added this plus an ATX sight and can now touch arrows consistently at 40yds and beyond. My skepticism about a mechanical (gadget) arrow rest is nothing but a distant memory. I don't even think about it...just knock an arrow and shoot. I have yet to serve in the trigger line but the supplied clamp works fine for now. It is very quiet, easy to adjust, easy to operate, easy to let down an arrow, and deadly accurate. I did find it best with my set-up (a 2012 Bear Encounter bow) to index the cock vane at 9 o'clock. I have shot accurately out to 50 and 60 yards but the majority of my shots are between 25 and 45 yrds. Get it, set it, and forget it.

Simply the best drop away rest on the market
I purchased this rest for my insanity CPX. The reason I chose this rest over similar rests was the complete arrow containment for safety, easy set up, reliability, cool look, increased accuracy and velocity (over non-drop rests), and the price on amazon was about the same for what you find lower end models elsewhere. QAD makes different trims of this rest and this is the bigdaddy of them all. The most appreciated features of it for me are the graduated side-to-side and vertical adjustment which their lower end models do not have. This makes it easier to set up your center shot and rest height (a blessing if your worried about having your arrow shaft go through the berger hole). I also like the shape of the body which allows you to secure the front of the body against your riser so its oriented perfectly vertical (another feature the lower end model does not have). Inside the box you will find 1.instructions both paper and dvd type 2.a complimentary sog knife (a neat surprise for me) 3.a spacer and longer screw if you need more standoff gap for your windage 4.the arrow rest 5.mounting hardware & cable clamp 6.tools 7.felt covers 8.an extra arrow rest fork with shallower groove Tools you will need not included 1.Philips screwdriver 2.Ruler or calipers for setting up centershot (or you can eye it by lining up the middle of your grip and nocked arrow to the bow string) Easy set up 1. fasten the rest to your riser 2. adjust the rest height 3. adjust for center shot 4. clamp timing cord to buss cable approximately 3" below the rest (make sure its the buss cable that moves downward when you draw your bow) 5. draw your bow and make sure the lines on the thumb lever wheel and arrow rest body line up during the last 1-2 inches of your draw. I would suggest having the timing cord on the loose end to start and work your way taking off slack til this happens. If the timing cord is too tight or not enough slack it could affect the performance of your bow. 6. tighten clamp *7. if you change draw length on your bow you may have to do steps 5 and 6 again to re-time your rest. I have the lower end QAD hunter model on my fiances bow which works well but the containment bar on it isn't as good and can cause problems with the bolt that is used to tension the arrow rest body in place. Like most people I see with that rest I just took the containment bar off. The hunter model is a bit harder to set up as you adjust height by tipping the rest up and down and rotating the arrow rest mechanism in its hole. The HDX is noticeably quieter than the non dampened models but only if you have it high enough to not slap the arrow shelf on the riser. As a mechanical engineer I find this product is a good value and of good construction. It's well made and easy to set up which is a blessing for some who is very meticulous.
