When we saw this and read the ad information, thought, how can this work that good? We thought, well, we will give it a try, if it does not work, will then get a fancy electronic system. Well, this is all we have to have as it works great. Sometimes the simple route is the best route. No electronics, electricity, wires, just a tone box. Just a simple tone box ( not unlike a turkey box call) mounted above the entrance door with a spring loaded striker system. So simple, yet really works well. We have two store fronts, separated by a wall with a double door opening between the two. This thing exceeded our expectations and can be heard throughout the two store, 4,400 sf building, even over conversations. Hard to believe, but it really works well.

I’ve had one of these on the door to my restaurant for 32 years and it finally gave out. Yes, 32 years. I think I got my moneys worth from the first one! Only thing I can say about this new one is that it is just not as loud as the first one. We’ve tried adjusting it but no difference. We are still able to hear it but just not all the way in the back of the restaurant like the original one we had. Overall still a great purchase and when our first one died I specifically sought out the same brand as the first. Incredible quality and very well made. Compared to the original it is still the same tough thicker plastic case. Company obviously has not changed their standards in quality. Good purchase .

Second one that I ordered that broke within the first few months of using. This one was ordered in July and has now broken. Both just past that the availability to return. Hightly disappointed

Three times is a charm, I guess. I needed an entrance alarm so we know when someone enters the office when we are out of sight of the door. We really don't need anything loud, it's a CPA firm not a machine shop. First we tried a conventional wired door buzzer - the kind that runs off 110v current with transformer for running the buzzer. It was way too loud and burnt out after 1 day. The electrician said the voltage was off and he could not find the transformer that was already installed. Next we tried a wireless alarm. The kind where the sending unit has magnet and a battery combination for detecting the door opening and a remote plug in unit that sounds the alarm. The door unit was stick on and kept falling off. Finally it just stopped working after a few days. Finally we bought this unit. It works just great! No batteries to die, no transformers, no burned out bells, just a simple mechanical system that is well made and works.

Bigger than I had anticipated. Not as loud as I would have wanted. However, I will keep the item as it is CONSISTENT in alerting me when my front door is open. My current alert system (plug in type door chime with a sensor on the door) works great most of the time. The volume is perfect, however it is inconsistent and only alerts me 95% of the time. For my needs, I need an alert system that works 100% of the time. Using both systems together.

I looked at what felt like hundreds of doorbells before deciding on this one. This is an awesome product with a pleasant tone (bell sound), it was relatively easy to install and it does NOT require batteries to work! Compared to the loud electronic door buzzer that we had before which seemed to always need a change of four tiny cell batteries, this is wonderful. The product is much larger than I expected, and it was a bit pricy (product + shipping and handling) but definately well worth the cost. If you want a pleasant sounding 'ding' that can be heard at approximately 20 to 25 yards away from the source (the size of the office), this is the doorbell for you!

This door chime doesn’t use electricity at all. The striker is pulled out by a magnet, and springs back to strike the chime. Pleasant sound, and cheerfully greets the customers.

I purchased one of these for my store’s main entrance so I could hear customers coming in easier. I chose this brand because my original location had this exact brand installed on its door and it lasted for years. However the second one I got, the e clip broke on it within the first week and I lost the spring. I’ve tried several different springs I had in my workshop but I can’t get the functionality to work correctly again.
