A great-looking, well-built automatic watch
I spent a lot of time looking for the "perfect" watch dial and this Seiko is it. The aesthetics of this watch are amazing. It has a handsome blue dial with easy-to-read markings. The yellow second hand and minute numbers provide a good contrast, and the day/date window is large enough to see. (I like having the weekend days in blue/red). Another plus is the clear back which allows you to inspect the movement. Since this is an automatic watch don't expect the same level of accuracy as you would get from a vanilla quartz; however, that being said I still find that it keeps decent time. The stainless steel watch band is of good quality and the watch has a nice, solid feel. I have a smart watch but I still like to wear this one sometimes "just because." PROS: Very good looking watch with simple, classic features and a see-through "exhibition case" back. The "Hardlex" crystal is durable (I've had this for years and no scratches with occasional wear). It's water resistant to 30M. I'm not very fond of those monster-sized watches that are popular these days; this one is perfect. CONS: The automatic movement (self-winds as you move) is reliable, but you'd better wear it all the time to keep it wound or invest in a watch winder. While it survives a few hours off your wrist at night it will definitely run down if you take it off for very much longer. The second hand keeps moving when you pull the stem to set it and that annoys me somehow.

Great watch at a fantastic price
This watch looks, feels and performs like a significantly more expensive watch. Let's start with the looks. The color of the blue face is rich looking, not cheap. The sheen on the bezel is just right -- bright but not too bright, which would make it look cheap, and not too matte either. The band is more matte, but it's beautifully done and so far seems to be sturdy. The craftsmanship on the band indicates the price point. The first week or so I wore it, it squeaked, but that's gone now (after a few months), and replaced with an ever-so-slight metallic movement sound. Not loud at all, but it's not silent either. The weight of this watch is perfect; again, something you'd expect from a much more expensive watch. The mechanics of setting the watch are straight-forward and feel solid. Only more time will tell how resilient the crystal is against normal "desk diving" in an office and home use environment. Setting the watch is easy. Working the clasp on the watch is easy. Adjusting the band appeared to be easy (I took it to a jeweler and it took about five minutes including one interim adjustment). The watch appears to have normal gain/loss, although I haven't been too scientific about it to find out how many seconds per week. Overall a fantastic value, I can comfortably recommend this watch as both a great dress and as a great casual watch.

Looks great, well made, comfortable.
Love the look of it. Feels sturdy and more expensive than it is. Easy to set, easy to resize the bracelet (you can just use a paperclip if that’s all you have). My first automatic watch, making a great impression!

All the Seiko 5 hype is legit
Very happy with my purchase. This is my first non-quartz watch. The blue is the best I've seen, and with slight yellow accents it works well as a dress watch. Totally in love with the face. Holds time well, true to the Seiko 5 reputation. Super light, yet sturdy. The one drawback is that is is just an automatic, not one of Seiko's "kinetics." Meaning that there's no energy storage. So if I skip a day wearing it, be it to swap watches or just lounge over a weekend, I'll have to reset it come Monday morning. Generally about 24 hours or so between taking it off and it stopping altogether. A symptom, though, of the genre, not this specific watch. Give it a few quick shakes and you're back in business. The crown on this is a bit tiny, so it can be a pain to set and I have tiny fingers. If you're happy with that one minor con, you can't go wrong with this watch. Considering a Citizen Eco-Drive as a new daily, but even if I do I'll keep this one around.

Love the dial
Pictures and videos hardly do it justice. I think a previous buyer said it best: it's just an incredibly rich blue. It made my other blue watch dials seem gray or slate by comparison. The lume is very bright and clear when its absorbed enough, and having a dab of lume on the second hand I found appealing. The yellow accent is barely noticeable though, but I don't consider that a strike against it. It consistently runs fast, but I've found through my own research that that is considered typical of Seiko 5's straight out of the box (suspected as a long-term insurance against the inevitable slowdown of mechanicals over time), and since it's only been gaining an average of +5.44 seconds per day (varying as low as 2s and as high as 12s), that's within acceptable standards for a mechanical watch. I guess it could get regulated by a skilled watchmaker or jeweler, but I don't consider that necessary. If I had to lodge a complaint against it, I'd rail against Seiko's decision to include a paltry 10MM gap between the enormous lugs, but really that's kind of my own fault for being so enamored with the dial that I didn't even notice that case design since it's right there in the picture. This basically means there is no plan B if the strap breaks, but given its stainless of decent quality folded links, I don't anticipate that happening barring some serious rough and tumble which I'm not likely to see. My first mechanical, and already my other watches are jealous that this one is stealing so much wrist time. I just love the blue of the dial.

Not worthy, not original SEIKO
I am writing this review after one and a half years of buying the product. I would only say it is not a worthy product. Though the watch is still working, except for the occasional lagging behind by a few minutes, it has lost all the shine and looks very dull. There are a zillion VISIBLE scratches everywhere and the initial shine has turned dull to a level that you hate wearing it. Apparently the product/watch is not original SEIKO but a copy, that too third class copy.

Too small… it’s like a woman’s watch.
Love the way it looks but it is just too small. Felt very light when compared to my other watches. If you’re looking for just a dress watch that looks good, at a good price, then you might like this one but just felt light, not as sturdy as other watches. Also there is no illumination.

Sehr schöne Herren Automatik Armbanduhr von Seiko
Super schnelle Lieferung !
