Love this stuff! Works for grass seed too!
I have ordered this product several times now because I LOVE it! You would not believe how much you get out of a block of this stuff, it's really impressive! I recently used this product to plant grass seed, I broke the block up onto powder and sprinkled it over the grass seed dry then used the mist setting on the hose to get it wet, this worked perfectly to hold the seed in place and to keep it moist, I only needed to water once a day and it did the rest. I cannot recommend this stuff enough, trust me you will not be disappointed!

Extra fluffy!
This is excellent coco coir. It expands to an airy and light product that works great for both seed starting and bends for potted plants. The water runs through it quickly but remains full of moisture. What makes this particularly good coco coir is the expanded product is an especially fine grain, extra fluffy, and spongy (compared to other coco coir Iโve tried). I generally prefer coco coir over peat moss for both ecological reasons and the efficacy of coco coir over peat moss. This is particularly good coco coir and after using this product I donโt understand why people even bother with peat moss. Peat moss can easily dry into a solid bricklike substance whereas coco coir (especially this one) remains airy even if you accidentally under water. Since using this product there has been a noticeable improvement with my microgreen yield, my potted plants look happier, and the price point is reasonable. Iโve purchased this multiple times now and have been very satisfied every time. The only issue I have with it is itโs a rather large block and a bit of a commitment when you expand it to 15 gallons, but that is probably part of the reason itโs priced lower per volume than other products. To help avoid mold during storage I dry the expanded product in the oven on a low temperature (no hotter than 180 F). Higher temperatures release toxins into the soil like ammonium which are bad for plants so if you do this, keep the oven no hotter than 180 F. Then I combine it with 1 part vermiculite for 6 parts coco coir for an especially fluffy grow medium.

The. Best. Coco. Available. Period.
HANDS DOWN the BEST COCO I've used! EVER. The last batch of coco coir that I ordered (it was super inexpensive, so I thought I'd give it a try as I was short on funds) came in tiny bricks, and actually had little pieces of plastic and trash in it. Ugh. (This was NOT that company.) This is the best growing medium I've found, and I've used a lot of different kinds of coco coir. T I've used the bagged stuff with perlite in it (FoxFarms and others, and fwiw, I've since found its better to just buy & mix your own in, if you need it!), the blocks and bricks, and so on. But... THIS has been the best I've ever found and used. Clean, fluffy, pure and top quality. DEFINITELY recommend!!! Thank you, for offering a great product for us growers! It certainly takes the pain out of all of the research, trial and error, once you've found the best! I'm sticking with this brand and this company, from here on out. No doubt about it. ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐น๐น๐น๐๐๐

Great soil.
You will need to wash this soil a bit more. My tap water is about 200ppm and the wash off was 440ppm. So the salt content is way better than a lot of other brands. I usually get Plantonix but the price has been going through the roof. In comparison the Plantonix brand has about 300ppm when I first test it and I feel you get a bit more soil with Plantonix. That said, I really like the texture of Minute Soil. It soaks up water a bit quicker too. I feel it's a great deal and will buy more in a pinch. Don't forget to get some cal-mag for your Coco soil as it lacks micronutrients. What I do is use pH adjusted water and flush the soil until the salt content is reasonable. I then use ph adjusted water with cal-mag and kelp fertilizer for one last watering. I let it soak over night and it's becomes a great base for my soil. If you don't do this, you will have very bad experiences with coco based soils.

Works as expected.
Bought these as a replacement for a different brand and they worked, thankfully. Absorbed the water really well and relatively quickly, within about 30 minutes for an entire block. Mixed it in with my compost and spread it out over the soil on my beds and it held the moisture pretty good. Checked on it the next day and it was still holding strong. Definitely helped make the potting soil airier and lighter for my garlic and other root crops to get through, but held the water as well. Only downfall was that I only ordered 8 and needed more to try to plant more seedlings so when I went to purchase more (a few days later) the price had already increased by about $30-40 for the same item. That was disappointing.

Good but not great would not use for seed starting
Good deal on coconut Coir, but not great. The grind is inconsistent, with some big clumps of coconut hair, and there is what looks like dry grass in the blocks. I did find some white plastic shavings in the blocks, so the QC on this could be better. I would use this to add to soil or a saised bed, but I would not use this to start seeds
