40 more felonies to solve. Here is the perfect book for when you have a few minutes to kill. Test your powers of deduction with 40 of the best quick-read whodunits in the third installment of the popular Five-minute Mysteries series. Here's the idea: take about five minutes and read a mystery. The stories -- some about the crime, some about the evidence left behind, or perhaps the getaway or the investigating detective, and so on -- are told with all the clues you need to solve the question posed at the end. The problems are yours to solve: How did the courtly investigator expose the insurance cheat? What clues at the scene of a murder-suicide actually point to a murder-murder? What egregious mistakes were being made by airport security? Plus 37 more brain-teasing situations. The cases presented are rated from easy to moderate to challenging. Some of the mysteries unravel quicker than a dime store sweater while others will remain on the books for a long time. Or at least until you go to the back of the book where the solution to each mystery is revealed. Five-minute Mysteries 3 is a treat for puzzle and mystery fans and a rare opportunity to step into the shoes of law enforcement and outsmart the criminals. Review: Perfect for the night stand in the guest room - These short mysteries are great entertainment For right before dozing off. Review: Cool but with unfulfilled potential - The mysteries were good, the characters felt very powerful and engaging, and it was interesting how in so many stories the main character is actually a villain trying to avoid detection. However, the end of the book contains solutions, but absolutely no epilogue actually explaining what happens next, or what the motive for certain crimes was and stuff like that. I prefer books that do have epilogues like that and am frustrated about how this one forces fans to guess what happens next. Still, I don't really regret reading it.

Another fun winner from Weber
In this you have 40 stories and most of them are leaning towards murder and finding your inner Ms. Marple or Columbo. The stories occupy about two to three pages per story, with the question of how did the police spot the murder or spot the con artist at the end. This ebook version is great since they have hot links between the answers and the stories the answers support. The downside is at times the author uses Canadian or U.K. English language and there some word choices that would trip one up if they didn't recognize the clue in the texts. As well as some of the questions depend at times on some minor bit of trivia to know and solve the answer. Still fun to read and work my brain.

Good for kids, too easy for older teens or adults.
These are good little mystery stories, and excellent for little kids. We havenโt come across anything violent yet. But they really are too easy/obvious for an adult. These are only for kids, Iโd say 7-10 up to 12-15 years old. After that, theyโre going to be transparent. We read 8 in a row and didnโt have to read the answer to know who did it.

Good mysteries, some not always perfect logic.
Bought this one because I liked #2 in the series. I enjoy the short read (1-3 pages max) each night in bed before going to sleep. Sometimes, I don't fully agree with the solutions, but that is mostly a rare case.

Fun whether you read his mystery stories alone
Can't go wrong with a Ken Weber mystery to exercise the brain. Fun whether you read his mystery stories alone, with a friend, or in a group.
