Grow a Little Fruit Tree: Simple Pruning Techniques for Small-Space, Easy-Harvest Fruit Trees Review: Process made simple and clear - Well written and great pictures! Love the detail in how to do every step of the process. Realistic expectations and application for those of us that aren't professional gardeners. Review: Great info for raising fruit - This book is very well written, explaining specifically how to grow fruit trees in small spaces for ease of harvesting as well as health of the trees. She explains why this is healthy & won’t harm the trees and goes into good detail and gives examples of the differences between not keeping small & keeping small. There are a decent number of photos & diagrams showing where & how you’d want to prune; although I did wish for a few more detailed ones. But overall I got the idea of what to look for in pruning. This is exciting for someone living with a small yard to be able to have fresh fruit! If you’d like to or do grow fruit trees, I highly recommend this book.

Straight forward, quick, and valuable read.
You can tell the author really enjoys her subject. I had already read up on the topic of pruning to keep fruit trees small and easy to prune and harvest from; but still found information, descriptions, and examples which were very helpful.

Good book, would benefit from more before/after photos
This book helped me get started the first few years of growing our plum tree. I do wish there was more information out there about the techniques described in the book. In particular I wish there were tons more case studies, "this situation, did that, here's the outcome." There are a few in the book, and they are the most helpful.

The Best Fruit Tree Book
This is the best book in caring fruit trees with revolutionary ideas, which is not covered in most garden books or garden radio shows. Most garden books and the so-called garden gurus recommend pruning fruit trees only in late winter time when trees are in dormancy. Most garden books or gurus just copy-paste or borrowed the old ideas and most people just blindly followed these traditional practices. Based on my learning from this book, I will prune my peach/ apricot/pear trees around summer solstice! Another useful information from this book is that you can prune your trees any time of the year. Of course, winter pruning and summer-solstice-pruning are the recommended. Growing fruit trees as close as 1.5 feet apart is another take-home message from this book.

Incredible. Go out on a limb!
It's amazing how a tiny idea can plant itself, germinate, and fruit. So just like that I bought some trees, chopped them most of the way down, and now I dream in peach flavored peace. I had studied the idea of backyard orchard culture many years ago and didn't act on it. This year, I did. This book is 100% responsible for the 3 tiny fruit trees in my new orchard. There's actually very little risk and a whole lot to gain. The author is well spoken, knowledgeable, and easy to spend time with. I love this little book!

Practical advise to maintain fruit trees small enough to pick fruit without a ladder
This is a great book with practical advice on keeping fruit trees a manageable size and still bearing fruit in smaller yards. I highly recommend it anyone with an interest in fruit trees or ornamental trees as well.

Lovely
Beautiful illustrations and lovely commentary. Lots of good information packed in this book. I am excited to start my very own orchard after reading this and I finally feel prepared! Why be overwhelmed with towering trees when you can keep them small and manageable. I especially am excited to follow her advice on the use of worm castings and the miracles they seem to bring. Thank you Ann Ralph for this wonderful book
