FastCap ProCarpenter Standard Reverse Measuring Tape, 25-Foot

I’ve used a lot of tape measures over the years, and this FastCap is one of my favorites. The left-handed markings make reading measurements much more natural for me, and the numbers are clear and easy to see. It has a smooth blade extension, a strong lock, and feels durable without being overly heavy. The built-in pencil sharpener is a nice bonus. Whether you’re a carpenter, DIYer, or just need a reliable tape measure around the house, this is an excellent choice. I’d definitely buy it again. Fastcap tapes are by FAR my favorite tapes that exist. Several different versions all for various reasons but this version is very easy for accurate readings and can help avoid accidental markings and wrong cuts. I tend to like the smaller version the most but that's only because I tend to grab it for smaller readings and markings anyway. The clip can sometimes be hard to get onto wall mounted tape clips and things you just wanna slide it down and have it engage. A tape like this can help even a novice call out fractions quick and easy - but make no mistake this tape is equally good for real pros. There is a fatal flaw in every one of these tapes of this variety - and that is this is a delicate precision instrument and the first knuckle head to extend it out far and let it roll itself back up quickly and the tape retraction mechanism will almost surely break the first time. To be fair they include a button break on bottom to slow the retraction and one can always use a finger under the tape to do the same but I have lost a few of these to my own accidental rapid retraction and more than a few to someone just walking by the tape being a typical "guy" extending the tape out far and letting it roll itself back up and hard stop at the end on its own. Do I wish the tape was made such that it would be indestructible to such a likely to occur thing? Absolutely... but I think it's more important that I convey to you someone can break my tape every day and there is still not another tape I want to come home and order again and that says an awful lot about how much I value it. Living in the USA I always keep this one (green) - I also like to have in my proximity the yellow (sae and metric on same tape) and the gray (flat tape for metal marking). The 16' tapes fit the best into my pocket but this 25' tape is the go to for workbench or tool bag. If there was ever a tape to replace all those poorly made tapes that get those Father's Day stickers and wood attached to them talking about measuring up - this would be the one to convey such a message without the decal/placard.

Liked it so much I bought 2! Took the guessing away and now makes it easier to read a tape measure. Accurate when compared to other tape measuring tools. It is sturdy and strong and the size makes this easy to carry and take to wherever it is needed.

I’ve had them all, DEWALT, lurking, Milwaukee, craftsman, and on and on. None can beat this little guy for what it is. Easy to read, reliably works in tough conditions and packed with extra features. I am pretty tough on tapers and am constantly trying to find a better one. I’ve had this one for two major projects now and it is still performing well. I built a 600sqft floating deck with pressure treated lumber and am currently installing a 450, paver stone patio. In both cases the tape has been performing beautifully. Both environments have been dirty weather saw dust, crushed granite, or sand. This tape has been dropped from heights of 8’ and I’ve retracted the tape through PT wood saw dust and leveling sand. It still retracts like the day o bought it. As for the bonus features that I like the most, I’m always guessing at the actual measurements because I’m not the greatest at mental math and this tape labels each and every tick mark on the tape in both directions left and right. Talk about easy to read! I also love the writing surface in the side of the tape to write the measurements with pencil. There is even a pencil sharpener on the side. Thankfully I switching to a pica style long tip mechanical pencil so I can use the sharpener. Would not work for a carpenter pencil. Not that that matters since I also reach for my knife to sharpen those anyways. If I had a wish list, i with the foot markers were a little more bold or perhaps a different color. And I wish the buckle on the side was slightly bigger to make it easier to hook onto my tool belt clip. I would highly recommend this tape! I have bought tapes 4 times this price that kicked the bucket long before this little guy. For the price, I am going to buy a couple more to keep around for when I inevitably bust this one.

I bought the FastCap ProCarpenter Lefty/Righty measuring tape, and I love it. It is exactly what I needed. The best part is how easy it is to read. The markings are clear, and the Lefty/Righty layout makes it useful no matter which direction you are measuring from. This is especially helpful for people who struggle with reading a standard tape measure or just want measurements to be faster and less annoying. The quality feels good, and it works well for woodworking, shop projects, home projects, or general measuring around the house. It feels like a tape measure made for actual use instead of just something cheap to throw in a drawer. The functionality is simple but very useful. It helps reduce mistakes, saves time, and makes measuring easier. For value for money, I think it is worth it because a good tape measure is one of those tools you end up using all the time. Would I buy it again? Yes. I love the tape, and it is exactly what I needed.

I have to say this has been my favorite measuring tape so far. The fact I can sharpen my pencil, write on it and even draw on it is very convenient when I’m out doing measurements for landscaping. I will say you have to get up close to the tape to see the numbers better, but it’s not a dealbreaker. Has a good weight to it and seems durable as well.

This is the easiest to read tape measure. The sharp contrast between white tape and the tick marks / numbers makes quick measurements a breeze. The side panel comes in handy when you need to mark down a measurement that you will need for later. However, I have found that these measurements can be accidentally wiped away after a few more outs of use. The onboard pencil sharpener is quality and always gives a sharp point and the belt clip is easy to use and stays securely on your side. Standout on the tape is not the best but all the aforementioned traits far outweigh that for my uses. I cannot recommend this tape enough.

This is by far my favorite tape measure for a few different reasons. It can be read either measure left to right or right to left, it has more than just fractional measurements. Plus, it has a pencil sharpener & a button towards the bottom that holds the tape on place. I bought two! You can also write on the white part The only feedback I'd give if they could make the actual tape measure slightly thicker and add magnets on the hook. Overall, this thing is awesome!

This 25 foot left & right reading measuring tape is the woodworkers pro choice. I've been building cabinets and furniture for some 25 years. always using a regular tape. I finally decided to purchase a lefty to stop reading upside down. But this one is better than I expected, I use it in the wood shop every day now. Not only is it well made and durable, the measurements are in 1/16th increments the entire 25 feet on both sides. someone was thinking like a woodworker or any other craftsman in this design. A nice rubber encased grip and a built in pencil sharpener, a wonderful idea. along with a sort of white board to write in a measurement on the side. another excellent idea for the short memory of a head full of fractions and numbers while your transferring a measurement. This is a must for any craftsman's workshop, its simply the ideal measuring tape. Highly recommend.

So solid and well built, I didn't realise it was purely imperial so bought the yellow one straight after. The accuracy is great which naturally knocksdown easy reading. the sketck pad and sharpener are must haves now. The clip is much sturdier than usual Best of its kind anywhere!
