Decent bits for the price . .not ultra quality, but good enough for wood.

Good steel, starts out sharp. Good deal for the price.

The bits came individually packaged in a hard plastic case for each, which should keep them protected in the tool chest. They were sharp out of the box, and made short work of pine and particleboard. Be warned, bits of this size are very difficult to drill freehand, they want to jump all over. All bits of this size and style do. The best way to do it is drill a scrap piece to establish a guide hole, then clamp the guide over whatever you are drilling. I added a hole in a desk to add a grommet for computer wires. The hole was clean and accurately sized. Overall, and for the money, this is a great value.

These bits came very sharp and on my drill press or lathe chuck they cut flawlessly. The only issue I had was the outer cutting tips were a bit dull but I easily sharpened them with a diamond hone. Other forstner bits with sawtooth, serrated, or straight edges all the way around may work well initially, but once they dull the sharpening process is much more difficult because you have multiple teeth or a round cutting edge to hone. With the Meichoon design, you just have the main cutting edge and the two wings to sharpen, which are both simple procedures. After 3 years of testing Forstner bits, these come closest to being perfect for my purposes. But apparently they might not shine for hand held drills, so take that into consideration.

I don have a lot of need for Forstner bits, but I had a project that required them. I didnt want to invest a lot, and the price point on these bits belies their quality. The cutting was remarkably good! I have no other Forstner bits to compare them to, but they seem fast and clean with a hand held drill and with a drill press. The photograph was of a hole made in hard maple for a furniture project. Perfect.

Not bad for a cheap set. Some tearout on sides but manageable. For a none wood worker like myself this did a good job for installing cabinet door hinges.

Cuts holes in wood perfectly. Great set to have if you're working in metric sizes.

Je me suis procuré cet ensemble de forets pour une raison très précise : construire une armoire constituée d’une porte avec charnières de type clip comme on en trouve, par exemple, dans les meubles à assembler soi-même. Toutefois, cela nécessite de « creuser » dans la porte, sans la percer, les emplacements de quelques millimètres de diamètre et de profondeur aux dimensions exactes nécessaires. C’est précis. De petits moules, en quelque sorte. À la quincaillerie du coin, on m’a dit que le travail exigeait des forets spécifiques, appelés « Forstner ». Mais elle n’en vendait pas. J’ai visité deux autres quincailleries, sans succès. J’ai effectué des recherches en ligne dans divers magasins, et j’ai appris alors que le prix était très élevé pour un seul foret. C’est sur Amazon que j’ai trouvé cet ensemble, et je l’ai commandé immédiatement. Quel bon choix, et à quel bon prix ! Je crois d’ailleurs que tout bricoleur devrait en avoir dans sa boîte à outils. NOTE : l’ensemble que j’ai commandé (15 mm à 35 mm) comportait un foret de 25 mm en double, mais il en manquait un de 20 mm. Une petite erreur qui a vite été corrigée par le vendeur (Meichoon), qui m’a expédié la pièce de remplacement avec beaucoup de gentillesse. L’échange s’est fait en français, ce que j’ai bien apprécié. Je félicite l’entreprise pour son excellent service à la clientèle.
