General Ridgewalker Zirkander is getting married. Sardelle—the woman who’s battled dragons, shamans, and countless enemy soldiers at his side—has accepted his proposal, and it’s the perfect time for a wedding. It’s been two months since any dragons or sorceresses attacked the city, the Cofah haven’t come after their kidnapped emperor, and King Angulus has stopped yelling at Ridge for his inadvertent role in destroying the castle. Yes, it’s the perfect time for a wedding. Never mind that the resident dragon who thinks he’s a god is pressuring Ridge to build a temple for him, or that the pirate-turned-scientist Tolemek has disappeared. Or that Ridge’s mother is on the verge of discovering that magic exists and her future daughter-in-law is a sorceress. These are small hiccups, and the wedding will go smoothly. Ridge is sure of it. Really. Review: First Class Writing - Lindsay Buroker is a truly gifted author. Each of her characters is unique with personality quirks you learn to love... or distrust... or abhor. Her adventures are amazing and her plot twists are very often completely unexpected. But most of all, her dialogue, the conversations among the characters are witty and more consistently entertaining than any I can remember reading anywhere else. And Ms. Buroker has a broad vocabulary. I thought my own was unusually broad, but in every Buroker book I learn words I've never seen before or, if seen ones I'd let slide without looking up because I was too lazy to look up words I thought I'd never see again; thank goodness it's so easy to look up word meanings on Kindle! In short, you really can't go wrong with anything written by Lindsay Buroker, but Oaths has some of the best, most clever, and laugh-out-loud funny dialogue of any of her many wonderful stories. I highly recommend this to everyone. I cannot wait for Dragon's Blood 9, 10, ad infinitum... because SURELY she won't deprive her readers - or herself - of finding out what happens next to General Ridge Zirkander, his father, Sardelle, Tylie, Phelistoth, Bhrava Saruth, and on and on. Review: Excellent - I'm so happy that I found this author. Her books are clever, exciting and funny. Thoroughly enjoyable. I want to read this series again.

Lindsay Buroker's light, slightly-steampunk fantasies are always lots of fun!
By now, what can I say that I haven't said before about Lindsay Buroker's light, slightly-steampunk fantasies? They're fun and likable, with tangled-up action enlivening the plots. This time, it involves getting the always entertaining (and exasperating) Bhrava Saruth's temple built; friends choosing wedding gifts, while Ridge and Sardelle are issuing personal invitations to a surprising assortment of people; convincing Ridge's mother that dragons and magic are real (because when she finally — accidentally — sees what should be proof, she stubbornly thinks they're trying to trick her!); finding out where and how the kidnapped Tolemek has been hidden even from magical senses (and on Tolemek's part, trying to escape), which leads to more action twists I won't spoil; and finally, of course, the wedding! The main story ends at 89%, followed by the bonus short story "Crazy Canyon", a misadventure starring Ridge and Colonel Therrick, which was and currently still is available to read free online <A HREF="http://lindsayburoker.com/free-fiction/free-fiction-crazy-canyon/">on LB's website</A>. CC is set <I>BEFORE</I> Oaths, BTW, but as of this reading, there's no note to that effect on its first page in the Oaths e-book, and you have to realize as you read.

These books are hilarious
I really enjoy your work. The characters are likable and quirky. I really hope this series is not over. I have read all your books and the one thing that I wish you would do going forward is to number the books on the cover. I was half way through the book before I could even remember who Lilah was. I went back and had to download several books again and used the search to try to figure out who she was unsuccessfully. The only one I didn't redownload was the offshoot book about Therrik. When the books are written and the time is spaced out between books and you read as much as I do it makes it hard to remember all of the characters. Most of your characters are all very memorable but for some reason I just couldn't place her. I guess she wasn't one of your main characters that was in all your books. But all and all I really enjoyed the story. Great job. Thank you for several hours of entertainment.

A Reading the Paranormal Review
Heh. There's never a dull moment for Ridge and his crew. Ridge would probably disagree with that statement seeing as his promotion to general leaves him MUCH less time to get in the air and a day in the air is what constitutes the "never a dull moment" for him. That said, Ridge, Sardelle, and the others are dealing with kidnapping attempts (not against the king, this time), a wedding in the works, Ridge's mother coming to terms with magic being real, and a whole lot of people who are interested in attending the wedding of the season. So, yeah. I stand by the never a dull moment thing. On top of all that other stuff, Bhrava Saruth, the most glorious dragon ever, is determined to have a temple built for him. After all, how can a dragon god go about procuring new worshippers without somewhere for them to gather and do all that worshipping? So Ridge is using his charm and quick talking to find land and convince the king to donate it to the cause, plus get a few people to help build said temple. We get a whole lot of familiar faces, a fair share of dangerous moments, some thrilling aerial acrobatics, and a wedding that is everything you'd expect it to be for Ridge and Sardelle. -Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal

Excellent series, exciting world, with great characters.
Writing reviews is hard for me, so I'm going to basically do a series review here. As the books were being released I must have read Soulblade in print. There is parts of that story that, because of how they are handled, sort of killed the series a bit for me. So, I stopped looking for new ones. Not even sure where all my print copies of this series went. Missing the fun and excitement of older L. Buroker stories, picked up the entire thing on kindle. Enjoyed the whole thing, including Heritage of Power, possibly because I knew where to start skip skimming in Soulblade. The whole series overall is a great example of the fun worlds this author is able to create. While I desperately wish a certain mundane subject wasn't such a big seller, and invading both my not supposed to be mundane reading genres, I have been trying to read around the ridiculous story interruptions of her more recent books. This series confines all that mostly to a few paragraphs of thoughts and starting actions, here and there. None of the 10 pages of skip with massive story interruptions. So glad these books exist, and I can go back to read her exciting worlds filled with vivid and fascinating characters. Shame I've been feeling recently like she's gone, but I assume the recent stuff bewilderingly makes more money.

Fabulous - Wonder humor
Wow,I'm seriously sorry to see this series end. The last 2 books were full of action and will have you falling over with laughter. The humor, hilarious dragons, swords, and characters are truly beyond words. The character flow and storyline were amazing. I truly hope there's another series that continues with Sardell , both swords, Ridge , his crew, and the dragons. I would love to find out about Ridge cousin and if Sardell had a boy or a girl.

Sardelle über Ridge: "Yes, he's only selectively brave. I don't know how a man can risk his life going battle in those crazy fliers every day, but then get's ashen and think he's going to die if he drinks milk that's gone bad." Für Nicht-Auskenner: Man sollte schon die ganze Buchreihe gelesen haben. Für Fans ein Must-read!

It's been wonderful to find this addition to such a great series of books. Although every character was great I absolutely love Jaxy! I hope I get more adventures with this series and that one day I'll be magically blessed with a soul blade just like Jaxy
