ACE Thumb Stabilizer Adjustable, Black

I was very happy with this brace! The material that was up against my skin was very soft and did not chafe at all. While I needed it for my right hand, I did try it on the left just to see if it did actually function as advertised, and it does fit just as well on the left hand. I was able to move the rest of my finger very easily, and adjusting the tightness of the brace was very simple. Would absolutely recommend to my friends!

I am having issues with clicking and joint pain in my thumb. I purchased the ACE thumb stabilizer because I have other ACE brand products and like them. This brace is easy to use and comfortable to wear. I like the design and the quality. I know it's not a cure for my issue but it is certainly helping me while I am healing. Also, I have full ability to use the top of my thumb and all 4 fingers while wearing the brace, such as while I'm typing this review. Do not hesitate to try it out because it is reasonably priced as well.

The product does stabilize my thumb, is comfortable to wear and easy to put on. I've worn the product for 6 days so can't give much info on it's overall benefit yet. I took one star off because the stitching between the thumb and index finger started to come loose on day 2 and worsened each day. It's a simple fix since I can sew but I'm a bit annoyed that I had to fix it.

This is just what I needed. Fits well. Feels good.

The Ace and the Mueller are the two obvious choices here, so I bought both. They are both good but each are better suited for different case scenarios. The Ace is thinner, less bulky, leaves more of the palm exposed and is less restrictive for the thumb and wrist. The Mueller is the opposite. It's thicker, bulkier, covers more of the palm and is more restrictive for both the thumb and wrist. If you have a real, or fresh injury and want something more supportive that will really limit more movement, the Mueller is the better choice. If you want something that provides a little support for a more minor injury, or have come along in your recovery and want to introduce some movement, or want something to wear as a daily supportive brace that will let you do more with your thumb and wrist - the Ace is the one you want. If it's easier to compare in terms of a knee brace - The Ace is probably the better choice for a - "daily knee brace" you'd wear everyday if your knee has just been bothering you, and you wanna give it some help.. The Muller would be the better "I really twisted my knee, it's swollen and bruised and needs time to heal". Both braces CAN be used in both case scenarios, but the Mueller is clearly a more substantial brace with more padding, stiffer bracing and less flexibility in it. The Ace allows more movement, more use of the hand in general, and is more comfortable to wear as a daily brace if you wanna give your thumb some help for a while. If youve had a real injury it might be worthwhile buying both and transitioning from using the Mueller initially and finishing off with the Ace before you go without a brace entirely. Just my opinion. Pictures show both side by side, then next 2 are the Ace, last 2 are the Mueller. They are designed differently but both are easy to get on/off. The Ace has a single strap attached to elastic strings that wrap around the wrist. The Mueller has 2 substantial wrist straps. Both have an additional strap around the thumb. The metal bracing is stiffer in the Mueller. The Ace is one size fits all while the Mueller comes in different sizes. Mine is the medium. Both can be used on either hand.

Worth every penny. Well constructed and provides as much or as little restrictive movement as needed. A+

So, I have an overuse injury of my left thumb (partial texting, partial bicycle riding, partial old hyper extension injury). What I need is to stabilize and decrease motion of the thumb so it can rest and heal. This injury used to be called a gamekeepers thumb (although my tendon is not avulsed). Since I believe in staying with name brands I tried this brace, and one by Mueller. Both are comfortable, both help remind me not to overuse the thumb, and both have stays, but this one allowed for too much movement and not enough support, especially at the wrist. So, not for me. As for fit, you hardly feel that you have anything on with this device (which is not what you need, by the way, you need support) and it also seemed a bit small for my hand (medium sized adult male). It also relies on elastic cording to provide a snug fit, and I know that elastic cording will loose elasticity over time, especially if you wash this (which hopefully you will). In conclusion: if all you need is a little support and a reminder not to overuse your thumb - this may well work. If you want true stability, I'd look elsewhere (perhaps the Mueller?). Lastly, I've seen others review these stabilizers with the intent of wearing them but still continuing to text. Newsflash, texting thumb is real and the way to heal that is, you guessed it, stop using your thumb to text!!!! This brace was returned in favor of the Mueller.

Lo compré porque empecé con una artritis del pulgar y realmente fue un gran alivio. Ya el problema se resolvió y no lo necesito más. Supongo que al descansar la articulación, se desinflamó y mejoró por completo.

I have some kind of tendinitis in my wrist/thumb joint that flares up when doing certain tasks; eg. gardening, woodwork and even knitting etc. If I wear this when I do the tasks it is both protective and acts as a ‘warning’ to remind me to take it easy with that joint!
