Bought these many times, and for the price, they are outstanding!
I pretty much refuse to pay Nintendo's prices for controllers these days. If their controllers were bullet proof and buy it for life, sure, but their controllers still suffer from stick drift, despite costing so much. So, I get these instead. Sure, some people may complain that they are wired, but they come with a generously long USB cable. The length works perfectly for my needs. As of writing this review, I am on my third one of these. My first one lasted 1 year, and the my second one lasted 2 years. They don't last forever, but for about $12, it's a steal compared to shelling out $70+ for a Nintendo controller that may or may not last as long. As far as what goes bad, it has been the joysticks. It never drifted side to side, but I think the last two of mine thought I was pressing up when I wasn't. No big deal: $12 and 1 or 2 days later and I have a new one. I honestly can't complain at all. Despite them going bad once in a while, I love the feel of the buttons and the joysticks, I love that they are wired, use no batteries, and are reliable, and I like the designs and colors I can choose from, all for $12!

Works Great for Emulator Gaming on MacOS
Very happy with this PowerA wired Switch controller. Even though it is not described for this purpose, it works really well as a gaming controller for game emulators on my M1 MacBook Air running MacOS 13.6.1 (Ventura). It worked out-of-the-box with every emulator I've tried — including Ryujinx, Dolphin, RetroArch and OpenEmu — which makes this by far the most compatible and easy to use wired controller I have found for Mac emulator gaming. And at this price, I could not ask for more value for the money. And it does not feel cheap to me at all — I do not think they skimped on build quality at all compared to higher priced options, and instead I assume the low price is possible thanks to the fact that it is wired and therefore does not need the extra technology that requires. I highly recommend it, especially if you are specifically looking for a *wired* controller (and not a wireless) like I was, for emulator gaming on a Mac. I assume the wireless Switch controller would work just as well, but if you want a *wireless* controller for a Mac, you have more options. If you, like me, specifically wanted a *wired* controller, or you want the lowest price / barrier to entry because you just want to try it out without spending too much money up front, this is by far the best I've found because of compatibility and quality. There is an unfortunate lack of good information and advice out there if you are specifically looking for a wired controller for Mac (and that's partly with I am bothering to write this review), but this is probably the best option out there and the value I got from this specific controller offered also gave me motivation to write this review. When I have experienced minor problems, it's been due to buggy emulation software, not to a problem with this controller or its compatibility. And its been a breeze compared to other controllers, which didn't work at all for me (wired 8bitdo SNES), or felt cheap and outdated (Logitech) even if they did work. And because emulators let you map the buttons to the controls of the original system, this modern-style controller will let you comfortably play pretty much every game ever made. The only downside is if you want the experience to feel exactly like the original game system, like N64 or SNES for example — it can work with those game emulators because you can remap the buttons to make most games playable — but if you want it to feel exactly like playing the original, you obviously will have to get a dedicated controllers for each system. But this style of controller is the closest thing you can get to a universal gaming controller for all systems. And that's a limitation of all modern-form controllers, not specific to this brand, or to Nintendo Switch pro controller — which, if you don't know — is pretty much the same layout as a PS or Xbox style controller, just with different button labels.

Works Well, But Drift Happens Too Quickly
I used this controller a lot while resting in bed during surgery, and it worked well. No batteries needed and the long cable is super convenient. The joystick drift did appear faster than I hoped, which isn’t ideal for gameplay, but considering the price, I still feel like I got my money’s worth. Decent overall for casual use.

They work if
They work great. You just have to make sure the cord is pushed ALL the way in. If you plug in the cord to the dock and controller but find it's not recognized by the switch it's probably because the cord isn't pushed all the way in, in the controller. It's a sturdy controller so don't be scared to use a little bit of strength. If you still can't push the cord in any more than it already is, then maybe something else is the problem. So far I've bought three controllers and they're all great. Worth the money for these standard, basic controllers (especially since COVID19 has got Nintendo's repair center for the drifting joy cons down at the moment)...I also bought a USB hub and that does not change connectivity of these wired controllers. I'm satisfied.

Broken within 2 weeks. Return policy may result in no refund.
This controller worked great for 2 weeks. Then it began to disconnect intermittently. Now it won’t connect at all. Have only used it for 4 weeks total. I stated the return process and was notified it would take 30 days for a refund to be made and I might not get a refund at all if the item isn’t received in new condition. Seems a defective/broken item wouldn’t be considered new condition, so I’m not sure what to expect with this return process. Buyer beware of this Amazon sellers return policy on defective items.

Great Wired Controller for the Price!
I picked up this Nintendo Switch Wired Controller as a backup for my Pro Controller, and I’m really impressed! It’s comfortable to hold, lightweight, and the buttons feel responsive and clicky—perfect for long gaming sessions. The wired connection means zero input lag, which is great for fast-paced games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The 10-foot cable gives plenty of room to play without feeling restricted. Plus, it’s plug-and-play, so no need to worry about batteries or charging. ✅ Pros: ✔️ Responsive buttons and solid build quality ✔️ No input lag thanks to the wired connection ✔️ Long cable for flexible setup ✔️ Great budget-friendly alternative to wireless controllers If you don’t mind a wired connection, this is a fantastic, affordable option for Switch gaming. Highly recommend! 🎮🔥

I had already bought 2 Power A controllers for my XBOX ONE and I was very impressed with both even after a few years. So I decided to give POWER A another go for my Nintendo Switch OLED. Same experience, it's been a few months now and controllers are still perfect and feel solid like the other two I have. Keep in mind that I'm an adult gamer and I take very good care of my devices. But the controllers do feel very solid, just not sure how they would stand against a raging teenager throwing them around. Same could be said for any brand. So for the price we pay, to me, it is a no brainer. I will remain a POWER A customer for all my future consoles/computers.

Bought for Christmas. After using for less than three months the controller is no longer functional. Control pad "drifts" down. Makes playing virtually any game impossible. Would not buy again or recommend.
