Works well. Screen is nice to have built in vs ipad (with special mount). Works perfectly with my older Mavic 2 Pro. Display is comfortably bright but best to stand in the shade or have a hood if you're out on a sunny day when the sunny is pretty high.

I have a MAVIC 2 PRO: Personally, I see it as very expensive, but after receiving the product I justify how expensive it is by how comfortable it is, it still seems very expensive to me, although I don't care about the money. Robust, precise and eliminates the original remote control and the cell phone or tablets, which for me was always a headache, I have bought everything to try to minimize this complex original control that is increasingly heavy. I got to buy the "DJI Goggles 1080p HD Immersive FPV Drone Accessory (Racing Edition)" horribly heavy, but effective for its function, personally never use it for more than 1 hours in total, really very good but horribly heavy. Now that I received this product I think it is easier to fly the MAVIC 2 PRO that I have. It really makes it very easy for me with a single control where you have everything instead of with one control and mounting the cell phone holder and having two devices. IN A FEW WORDS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED EVEN THOUGH I COME BACK AND SAY THE PRICE IS VERY HIGH.

I have been flying a Mavic 2 Pro for about a year. Using my phone, a Pixel 2, with the stock controller was a very unsatisfying experience. The screen was not nearly bright enough in full daylight. I got somewhat frequent disconnect or failure to connect messages because of a flimsy USB cable and a crudded-up port on my phone. Plus it's just cumbersome to set up and tear down for each flight. I'd been eyeing the Smart Controller for a long time and should have bought it before the price went up. Anyway, I've used it for about 5 or 6 flights now. It's far from perfect, but it's SIGNIFICANTLY better than using a smartphone. The build quality is very, very nice. It feels like the premium product it is. The screen is incredibly bright and very clear. It seems to have a 60hz panel so the video feed is nice and responsive and smooth. The stripped-down Android version that it's running as an OS seems reasonably responsive and is familiar to me as a long-time Android user. Some things take some getting used to, I still keep trying to find a contextual "back" button but the controller has a hardware back button. The software and GO4 app is identical to the version published on the Google Play Store as far as I can tell. I have two complaints; one being a bit minor and purely subjective, the other being a bit more significant but potentially coincidental. It's expensive. Granted, you're essentially paying for a full-blown controller and a mid-range Android smartphone smashed together with a super-bright screen and great build quality. It just used to be $100 less expensive like 9-10 months ago. My other issue is with connectivity. Like 9/10 times there's absolutely no problem with drone-controller connection, but a couple times now I've powered everything up and there's absolutely no video feed from the camera. The sticks function and I have control of the aircraft, but no video. This seems to be an uncommon problem, but there's others out there that experience the same issue. Rebooting or relaunching the app works for most people. So far there isn't a definitive cause that anyone seems to have nailed down. Otherwise, it's a fantastic controller. It's much nicer to hold. It's much easier to get connected and flying. The screen is ridiculously bright and easy to see in full sun. Even the record and shutter buttons have a nicer click and feel to them than the stock controller. Battery life is excellent. I only have 2 batteries for the aircraft and this would probably go a couple hours before needing recharged. I'm glad I bought it but I wish I would have bought it before the price went up. And I really hope the seemingly random no video problem is addressed and solved for good very quickly. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's annoying.

Great product and highly recommended. I use this for my Mavic Pro 2. I don't want to worry about using my iPhone (and fumbling with connecting it) with a smaller screen and use up my cell battery (because this is needed for other things). This smart controller has a larger brighter screen with decent battery life. Hang it around my neck and I never worry about it - even on my motorcycle !!! Controls are awesome and I'm really enjoying this product. I've also ordered a smaller case just for the controller and use my original Mavic case for traveling in my motorcycle .

The fact that I don’t have to get my phone out and connected to the controller to fly my drone is the best part. I had to update the DJI GO4 app on it to get rid of the error 180 message and for it to let me takeoff, had to watch a YouTube video to figure it out, so far it seems to work fine with my mavic 2 pro, I also like the fact that it was brand new in the original box, worth every penny

Nope, don't buy it. I cannot get the map to work even while of wifi, much less off wifi. I have been flying using the standard controller, which is not working anymore, and an ipad mini, much better experience. You would think DJI could do better interoping with their own products then an iOS device can do. The convenience is just not worth the money, I just figured since my standard RC is out of order I would give it a shot. Unfortunately, trying to find just a standard controller to replace my old one is not possible it seems. Not a new one anyways. I am pretty close to writing DJI off altogether due to their lack of support on pretty much everything.

I got one of the Amazon Renewed units because they were a good deal cheaper. As at least one other reviewer remarked, mine also came defaulted to (what I assume in my ignorance was) the Chinese language. However, after a quick search on YouTube for how to change the language and a keen observational eye, I got mine running in English pretty quickly. The unit showed up otherwise undamaged and the box had even been re-sealed in plastic, though with a blank, and I'm assuming replacement, sleeve. Another great piece of news: With the purchase of a small HDMI male to USB-C female adapter by Elebase (available here on Amazon for +/- $30), I was able to pair the Smart Controller with my NReal Air AR glasses without any issue! FPV (First Person View) flight at last with my Mini 2 in glorious HD!!! Absolutely ecstatic with the result!

Quite pricey but definitely worth the price if you are a regular flyer. Great convenience! No more fiddling with your phone and cables. The screen is super bright even in the sun. Just grab & go! Definitely a must if you can afford it! However, at this price, I expect it to be compatible with all the major drones that DJI releases in the future.

Expensive, but worth the money for those serious about drone photography and cinema.
