Well made, works great!
Well made and works great! It enables me to monitor the temperature and ensure that the fireplace is at the proper temperature; mostly make sure it is sufficiently hot.

Works great. Took me a while to get it adjusted to right height because my pipe comes out of the back of stove. Once I did it is good. Let’s me know when I should put more wood in stove otherwise I would be rebuilding fire.

Accurate Stove Top Thermometer!
Needed an STT that showed higher temperatures. Seems to be more accurate than what I had before. Easy to read.

Weak magnet
The reason I gave a four star review is the magnet should be stronger as the pipe gets hot. The magnet loses its ability to hold and slides down the pipe, but temperature reading is fairly accurate.

Don't be cheap like me
First I bought a much cheaper Chinese produce that never worked. This one works great. Ordered the almost identical stove top one first by mistake so now I am using both the stove top and flue model which is a good combination.

Works great
We use this in conjunction with an infrared thermometer on our woodstove and it seems very close. Would recommend for a basic idea. Just remember the temperature changes, depending upon where you put it on your wood stove.

NOT for wood inserts.
Temperature gauge barely moves on wood insert fireplace. Even when the fire is roaring. Tried all different areas on the face of the fireplace and it barely moves. I would not suggest this for wood inserts.

The magnetic doesn't stick to the chimney pipe. It's not good quality magnetic.

Nice size and appears to be accurate. Its pricey compared to others but I wanted something that was accurate and would stand up. Only been using it for a few weeks so far and still looks like new.

The Midwest Hearth Wood Stove Thermometer works very well. Being made in the USA the product construction and operations if far superior to the Chinese knock off. The unit gave me tremendous insight for operating my wood stove. The thermometer arrived 8 days before the scheduled delivery date; a quick delivery from the east coast of the USA to me in Australia.
