Straight and true - readable numbers
Nice product. Very clear

Sharp crisp lines.
This is what you want for a precision ruler, 1mm graduation on one side, 0.5mm on the other. Crisp, high contrast lines which are easy to read ( Using a short, long, long, short segmentation between the 5mm markers). The finish on the zero end is a bit rough and could do with a finer polish, but it doesn't impact the overall usability. Perfect for pencil or knife markings, without grates that cut the skin or scratch your workpiece ( the zero-end corners are sharp though) Highly recommended for discerning home-craftspeople and probably pros as well.

Professional Precision and High Readability!
The Shinwa H101-C 300 mm Machinist Ruler is a top-tier tool for anyone requiring high precision, especially in 3D printing, woodworking, or metalworking. It stands out from "big box store" options due to its rigid build and specialized finish. What I liked: "Zero Glare" Finish: The satin chrome finish drastically reduces reflections. While not literally "zero" reflection, it is much easier to read under bright shop lights compared to shiny stainless steel. Extreme Accuracy: It conforms to the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) B 7516 Grade 1, which is the benchmark for professional-grade measuring tools. Dual-Sided Markings: One side features mm and 0.5 mm increments, while the reverse often includes a convenient metric conversion table. Built for Longevity: The ruler is hardened and tempered stainless steel, making it highly resistant to bending, corrosion, and wear. Legible Etching: The markings are precision photo-etched and black-filled, so they won't rub off or fade over time like printed scales. Pro Tip: One end of this ruler is ground flat and straight, allowing for dead-stop measurements from an edge, while the other end is rounded with a hanging hole for easy storage. If you are tired of squinting at flimsy, reflective rulers, this is a "buy it once" upgrade for your workshop.

good choice
Excellent. The lines are so much easier to follow than the rulers that have micro millimeter markings. It is an excellent length and allows more accurate lining up across the page.

Good, useful, quality tool
Well made, precision, easy to read scales. I wouldn't call it "zero glare," though. Like any metal surface, it will reflect light hitting it at an angle. But it's relatively low reflectivity, so it doesn't generally interfere with reading the scale. A good, useful too.
