Really cool to have that natural wood pencil feel but with a mechanical pencil

Excellent. The pencil itself has just enough weight to it to not feel flimsy - has a nice smooth finish without feeling too heavy. Feels like sturdy and well-made wood housing. Looks beautiful and works a dream - the click mechanism holds the lead in place without ever locking up. I'm definitely ordering more of these. This pencil does not have an eraser. For some people, that may be a problem, but I am used to (and prefer) using various erasers better designed for my needs than many of the generic, crumbly, poor performing erasers that come on many pencils, so for me, the omission of an eraser is a plus. The sharpener is ok to use in a pinch, but not great. There are better sharpeners that provide a better point, but a plus is that it does an excellent job of holding the lead dust. It's a pleasant addition, and the design is interesting, but I would've been fine without it. This review is focused mostly on the pencil itself, which I love, so I have given it five stars.

Admittedly I love natural pencils, good pencils, but I am frequently swayed by the convenience of a mechanical pencil. However I hate that the leads always snap on me since I apparently write like a gorilla. I was watching NHK and they did a piece on this company of pencil makers and I saw that they were making a natural pencil with a refillable 2.0 lead …I was like sign me up. I ordered two eventually and one for my daughter and husband. The second one for myself I ordered a harder lead from the company since they come with a softer lead normally (the softer lead great for drawing)! The harder lead I wanted for writing since …you know the gorilla thing. All in all I am VERY pleased, it feels like a normal pencil and it even smells like one. Btw-I highly recommend busting out the translator and reading the packaging as well.

Lovely pencil to use it

Great feel of this writing instrument. I love wood. It's like using a real pencil. It has a clutch advance. It's not just a lead holder. I wish they made this is more colors. I would buy all of them.

Amazing, just like others I have read with the staedtler lead clicker problem, this pencil works just like any regular mechanical pencil as far as pumping out small amounts of lead rather then shooting out 2 inches of it. The sharpener is an amazing addition, and the whole body legitimately feels like I'm holding an old #2 pencil. I LOVE THIS THING. I'll be buying another soon b/c along with being a great pencil, though it's coming from Japan, it shipped & got to me 3 weeks earlier than its predicted time. Overall I'm extremely pleased!

I like the pencil but it not compatible with steadtler lead holder sharpener. Lead would usually break whenever I'd try to sharpen the lead with this holder.

Good addition to my mechanical art pencil collection.
