Affordable and good product!

This was recommended by my assessments teacher as part of a nurse practitioner program. It is very helpful for learning stitches prior to attempting to place them on a human! The silicone works ok; I feel that actual skin is very different, but it’s also variable among people so I’m not sure how that could be improved. It’s portable which was helpful for practicing at work and other places.

This is a nice little kit it includes so much I had a fun time getting a hang of the different suture materials and feeling out which tools work the best for me. The only thing I wish was added to the kit would be a better way to dispose of the needles. If you dont already have access to a sharps contrainer your kind of forced to keep them in odd ways like in old medicine bottles or other appropriately strong plastics.

for the price, no complaints from this guy, plenty of sutures provided with the box to get good reps in and build up confidence and muscle memory. i will mention the sutures can break pretty easily when pulling to bring the skin together, but for training purposes it's good enough. i get batches of expired suture from my clinic so it's not a huge issue for me but something to note. skin material seems high quality and durable. it does tend to pick up all sorts of hairs somehow (even on a clean glass table) but it cleans very easily, you can just rinse with water and dry. the instruments are standard quality and workable but i did swap them out for my slightly fancier and personal preferred ones (i hate the curved hemostats). overall, great to practice and would recommend.

This kit is a bit pricey if I’m being honest, but the quality of materials is pretty good. The skin pad is very realistic and highlights the different layers of the dermis. You eventually learn not to knot too hard as the pad will fold. The tools provided are sufficient. The metal seems a bit thin and cheap, but this is a practice kit after all. It comes with plenty of practice sutures that are different material composition, which is excellent to get a feel for. All in all, would definitely recommend.

I’m a newbie to suturing but it worked well and the equipment from the silicon wounds to the forceps and needles were pretty good quality like the ones my med school gave us to practice on!
