Great desk speakers!
These are honestly the best speakers I’ve had in a long time without spending a lot of money. Before buying these, I tried a couple of other speakers from the same platform, but I had to return them because the sound was noisy and not clear at all. Since I’ve always had good experiences with Amazon products, I decided to try these Amazon Basics speakers, and I’m really glad I did. They sound very good. Of course, they don’t have a subwoofer, but the sound is still very clear. Even when you increase the volume, the audio remains clean and strong. Since they are desktop speakers, they sit close to you, which makes them sound even better. The volume knob feels premium and very solid when you turn it. Overall, the speakers feel very well made. I especially like that the front is metallic instead of fabric. I’m not a fan of fabric on speakers because it tends to collect dust and get damaged over time. I’ve even accidentally knocked them off my desk a couple of times, and despite some good bumps, they still work perfectly. Nothing has broken, bent, or stopped working. I really like them and I think I’ll keep them for a long time. In fact, I’ve already had them for quite a while and they’re still going strong.

Mac Mini info.
I *just* got these today, so this is more informational than a real product review. I have a 2025 Mac Mini, and frankly the built-in speaker is OK, but I really want more output when I have a file that's recorded at a low level. These speakers seemed like a good solution, not expensive, NOT using a precious USB port which are scarce on the Mini, and you can plug in wired headphones. Two "issues" that are not really problems, but worth noting. First, on my Mini, when I shift the left/right balance, the speaker with the control knob is on the right. I wish I knew this before setting it up on my crowded desk. The package shows that one on the left, but it is the right for me. Second, when I plugged them in, I got nothing. Tried them on another device, worked well. So, looked at the Sound menu on the system menu, yep, it was there and selected, but no output and I could switch between Mini speakers and the new set, but no sound. So I went to the Sound panel on System Setting. The speakers show as External Headphones, but they were muted! I noted that when I plugged in wired headphones it was OK. So, uncheck the Mute and slide the volume up and it was fine. Overall, not bad sound, a bit thin on the upper bass range, occasionally a tiny bit tinny, but fine for my needs. Depend on where you put them, I think. Plus I can turn them off, plug in headphones, and they don't waste any USB ports! Pretty good value.

Tiny, but Mighty
These budget friendly speakers seemed like the perfect replacements for a PC that needed new speakers, and because they are AC powered, not by a USB port which are in short supply on the old PC I needed them for. When they arrived, I was a little taken back by how small they were. The picture on the webpage makes them look much bigger. I was concerned that they would have very poor sound due to the size. But after hooking them up and using them, all concerns left. For the size and budget friendly price, they performed fantastically well. I was concerned that using AC to power them would result in the dreaded 60Hz hum. Because these speakers perform so well I was never able to turn the power up past half way and no hum was ever present. The bass response was quite impressive. Would audiophiles be happy with these? No, not at all, but they are great for what they are intended for. So, why, if I find them to perform so well did I only rate them with four stars? Because the AC line-cord and audio cable are way too short! I was just able to plug in the line-cord but needed an extension cable for the audio. I would have gladly paid the few pennies more it would take to lengthen the cord and cable a couple of feet or so. A serious short coming in my opinion.

Record Player/Turntable Speakers 🎶
I bought these powered speakers computer speakers for an unconventional purpose: to use with my Crosley C6B turntable! And, as cheap beginner speakers they work fantastically!!! (All I had to do is buy an extra cord that lets me connect the right and left audio to a single 3.5mm aux port.) The sound quality on these speakers is pretty good for the price and is very loud! I also absolutely love the fact that I can adjust the volume on the speakers themselves, with the built-in controll buttons and don't have to buy extra equipment to do so. And, while they aren't the prettiest to look at, they fit the small awkward space on my turntable shelf perfectly with room to spare! So, in total I would absolutely recommend these speakers to anyone else wanting to use them for this unconventional purpose or as just normal computer speakers!!!!!! 😁

Great speakers for laptop
These are very nice speakers for their size and money. They sound great for music, video conferencing, and podcasts on my laptop. I've been using them over 9 months now with no problems. I would buy them again.

Adjusted for Inflation, Acoustically Deflated
Bought these to replace a pair of 2014, sixteen buck Logitech Z130s that lasted twelve years. The goal was a like-for-like replacement at roughly the same spend, accounting for inflation. The new/different Logitech Z150 are thirty five bucks, which is well above the inflation-adjusted equivalent of that 2014 purchase price, so I deliberately stepped down to this Amazon Basics set instead. My use case is background music and podcasts during at home office work. My studio monitors handle anything that actually needs to sound right. So the bar here was low. The output is noticeably worse than the Z130s. Music sounds hollow and somewhat reverby, as if the cabinet is contributing audible coloration rather than the drivers alone. More frustratingly, podcasts with any kind of background music become difficult to hear without raising the volume well past where it needs to be. Voices and the music behind them compete for the same band rather than separating cleanly, and the result is a smeared midrange where consonants drop out and dialogue clarity is lacking. The old Z130s were rated at 5W RMS total and used a front-facing reflex port, so at minimum it had cabinet tuning that helped it sound fuller and less boxy than the price. This Amazon Basics unit is listed at 4.6W RMS with a 68Hz–20kHz frequency range, which is close, but those specs do not tell you much about driver quality, cabinet resonance, dispersion, porting, or tuning. For the actual job of background audio during work, they are technically functional, but they require enough volume compensation on speech-heavy content that they are distracting. Three stars because the calibration matters. In dollars, these are below where the Z130 was in 2014, so penalizing them for failing to match a slightly more expensive product class would be unfair. The build is fine, and they produce sound, and in 2014 prices, these would have been like eleven bucks. The deduction is for the specific muddy voice/music that actually matters and could have been resolved without a noticeable difference in cost. A properly tuned reflex port costs almost nothing in design/materials. So the failure is that even a single-driver design with a tuned port would've controlled the cabinet resonance and eliminated the hollow/reverby sound.

A Nice Device.
It was hard to believe the crisp and solid sound coming from these speakers. I'm glad I got them plug in instead of USB. They are great. I highly recommend them. They plugged in well to my Lenovo Laptop. Written 17 April 2026. A. Nathaniel Wallace, Jr.

Great Value
Perfect for the price. Great deal. No they aren't some extra spectacular bass booming speaker. But they also do not sound cheap. They have a nice sound that's not tinny or hollow. They sound good I'm very pleased.

Great wired speakers
I use these speakers mostly for for text-to-speech. I copy and paste my fiction chapters into a reading program and listen to them so I can get ideas for revisions and notice errors. Voices are very clear. These speakers also have pretty good sound for music if you don't want to blast it. Much better sound than what my computer produces. Speakers don't tip over easily because they are heaver and not so tall as my previous speakers that got knocked over just by shifting items around on my desk. Jack for headphones in the front of one speaker is very convenient. My computer desk is small, so I keep the one with the jack and volume knob underneath, sitting on the CPU. The other is on my desktop. I highly recommend these speakers.

When paired with the Emerson portable CD / cassette player - they're perfect!
I was able to pair them with the Emerson portable CD cassette player, and the sound is remarkable. I may buy one of each again to pair for the second floor of our house. This is because the Emerson does not adapt to the computer, but instead, it needs a wall plug; therefore, these speakers solve the problem.

Pas les meilleurs mais...
Ce sont de bon haut parleurs pour un set up simple. Une bonne qualité prix mais si tu audiophile perd pas ton temps et continue de chercher le son est bon mais manque un peu de basse.
